Rick Nash looks sick and likes driving to the net with the puck which is something i like seeing.

Rick Nash has looked like a stud out there. He's done my FAVORITE thing which is go hard for the net. I love the way he protects the puck by manuevering and even skating backwards. It's pretty damn obvious he's of very high talent. I'm not worried about him scoring at all that will definitely come in time.

They've looked so horrible these first 2 games, you can't help but think there's nowhere to go but up up up.

i simply refuse to believe that the team we've seen these first 2 games are the real new york rangers.

Of course they're not, and anybody who thinks this is the team is ****ing nuts.

You literally have to go back ONE SEASON AGO to see the same thing. Team looks godawful for their first 5-6 games and then all of a sudden they start playing like worldbeaters.

Consensus from the fans of other teams I've talked to is that they still want no part of us, and they're laughing at us for being worried.

I guess when they stop laughing at us we can officially start to worry

Nash has been good and I do like his will to drive to the net.

I'm also not worried about Lundqvist. He said himself that people shouldn't expect him to be on top of his game right away - that it might take a while. He'll come around.

That's about it, though.

I don't know about you guys, but I think we saw flashes of what this team could be in the third period. Something to build on.

They have a nice 2 day break to do some soul searching. If not that,
then Torts is gonna rip into them over these 2 days.

Wow. I forgot about that. That made me feel a bit better, although I'm still very confident about this team.

Looks like I'll have to ship off my Rangers 2013 47-1 t-shirts to Africa.

That won't continue. He's too good to do this long term.
Have you seen him last year after the concussion?

Our D is inconsistent. Seems like only McDonagh is consistent. Girardi always seems to suck in the last couple of months of the season too.

I'm not good at this positivity but if we beat Boston a team we own AT HOME not in a shootout we would have a slightly better start of a season. 1-2-0>0-1-2 due to tiebreaker. We should be able to win this game at home. Game 3 of the season is not game 1 and this will be at MSG. Oh and we led the league by the 48 game point in the season last year, so even with a start like that we could get the Presidents' Trophy.

My biggest positive is two players with maybe the most pressure going into the season from our standpoint have played well. I'm thinking Nash and DZ. Nash has clearly been our most dynamic player and that's nice to have a lack of doubt in the move we made over the summer. As far as DZ goes, I noticed him make a lot of nice little plays today. Keep in mind that he's stuck with Bickel, so DZ might have the biggest handful to deal with on the back end. That to me magnifies his ability to jump into the play and contribute If he had the fortunate of a more solid partner defensively I could really see him go off.

Slightly risky but I'm curious in seeing the possibilities of this:

Dz-McD
Staal-Girardi
X-Stralman

Good start for Nash.

Richards is completely gassed every shift, but 3 pts buy him some time.

Some of our D's has tried to be more offensive.

I like seeing it from McDonagh, but I think it has hurt Staal's game to be honest. Trying to do a fancy outlet rather than just clearing the puck led directly to Pittsburgh's first goal.

The Rangers biggest problem in the first two games is overall team defense. The Rangers have let up a boat load of odd man rushes so far. That and when the D start to carry they puck out of the zone and make that first outlet, the forwards are on the other side of the red line. The forwards need to come back some more to they carry the puck up the ice with some momentum. That forces the other teams D to back into the zone. Several missed long passes have resulted in icing calls against the Rangers.

Not to mention you can tell which players played in another league during the lockout and who didn't. Those players seem to be two strides faster.

Richards and Nash have looked really good as has McD and Pyatt. I think once Staal, Girardi, and Gaborik get some more hard practices and games in they will be fine.

Not one goal could actually be comsidered Hanks fault, though he is "off his game"

I'm wondering if our defense troubles are really on our D. Sure they made some blunders, but I think the forwards got back to defend way more frequently last year. If this is part of our changing playing culture, we better start scoring quickly.

Is that such a bad thing? The guy missed more than half of "training camp" with the flu. Hes working hard and making things happen nearly every time hes out there.

I wish some other guys were completely gassed after every shift too.
