I think this whole lockout business helped me realize that our media really are just a bunch of hacks (I know, I know, why now right? ).

This is not a thread to discuss whether or not we like certain players - this is for injury updates. Stay on topic.

sorry if this has been mentioned earlier, but I drafted Kesler in a fantasy pool.

Is he on the IR? I keep hearing that he is going to be out for quite some time, and if he is not on the IR... I am most likely going to have to drop him.

Given our cap situation this year, he does not need to be put on the IR. But I am not sure if he is or not.

So here's another fun little poll for you guys - would you rather:

A) Kesler comes back early - at, say, 75% - and helps the Canucks to another 1st place finish in the West? or
B) He takes weeks longer to come back - but at 100%, fully healthy - although the Canucks end up with a low seed, like 6th place?

Apparently Higgins expressed concern about the drill as well.

probably the first one because he would continue to heal (its a shoulder injury ffs) over the season

Um. The shoulder is the most important muscle to arm movement.

Yeah, I heard that. Seems silly to do something that could potentially injure your players but AV stood by it when they interviewed him. Even so, it's just bad luck, IMO. Booth could probably do that drill another 99 times and wouldn't get injured.

Not to mention that it takes a pounding in hockey due to all the checks being received/thrown. Ignorant comment by that poster.

B... hell, I'd even take C where he comes back 100% next season but the Canucks miss the playoffs this year (and draft Seth Jones )

Other than face offs, passing, shooting and checking though, is the shoulder really that important?

So, we watch an 8th seed steam roll there way to a cup last year...we've seen numerous 6th and under seeds make it to the finals in recent years..but you would just throw this year away, with the Sedins almost past there prime and everybody else getting older?

Keep planning for the future buddy, the present may never come.

What kind of drill was this?

I suppose you can still dive and run into goaltenders.

Not that anyone on here is aware of. Seems like a strange decision to drop him but I don't know anything about the setup of your league.

He was dropped for Paul Martin, so I figured something must be up..

Thanks.

I'd pick him up, i said in the last game day thread, he's throwing alot on pucks on the net and he's bound to collect some points if he keeps that up.

i think he has a good offensive year

B, no question. Home ice doesn't mean anything and we're probably not going to win 1st place even with him back.

Didn't Paul Martin score 2 points in the opener? That's probably why. Just a reactionary player.
