Really annoyed Hickey isn't getting a chance yet. There's only like 7 days of practice through the season lol, when is he supposed to play?

Nice to see we're thinking ahead and playing for a draft pick early this year

Agreed, I'd put Hickey in just to match TB's speed. Then again none of us are NHL coaches.

It really can't be hard for Hickey to be better than Finley. If Cizikas doesn't play again too, I'm really annoyed. Don't even get why it is him or Boulton. Get rid of Reasoner!

I'm "working from home" today so I can watch the game in peace. Isles play Tampa pretty tough. They are pretty similar teams, both have question marks all over the roster, both have some promising young players, both have a first rounder who played last year being seasoned in the minors (Connolly and Nino)

Tampa's got a few more weapons up front but these teams are pretty evenly matched, compared to some of the other teams in the Isles division!

It's nice to chill at home, just finished watching Star Trek 3 on the SyFy marathon. I wish I could see Star Trek 4, I loved that one.

Anyway, looking forward to the game, great GDT as usual Law.

Hmm.. the definition of insanity is....

I'll stop there and just go with this one: If at first you don't succeed, try doing it while drinking a beer. You'll be amazed how much less you care.

I'm hoping for a win 3-2. Goals by JT, Moulson, and Boyes.

BTW... why no Hickey in the lineup? Finley should sit.

I'm not getting why they're keeping the same defense. I just don't get it.

Gotta love Hamonic on this. "making a good effort or playing well is not enough". "Winning the the only outcome acceptable".

Love this kid. Future captain (if JT doesn't want it) or an "A".

Same defense? I sure hope not.... Tampa's speed is going to make easy work of our slow footed bottom pairing.

Boulton only played 3minutes, but I'd prefer Cizikas as well.

I would have thought Hickey would be a better choice against Tampa, which is a pretty small team. They are a speed/skill team and having St. Louis, Stamkos, Lecavalier and little Cory Conacher scooting around guys like Carkner and Finley - well, we're asking for trouble.

Any why Martinek isn't dressed is simply laughable.

Makes no sense at all. Maybe they were fooled into thinking they did anice job defensively since Nabokov stood on his head and only gave up 2 goals.

Finley and Carkner are brutal. Maybe if Carkner played with a guy who was excellent at clearing the puck he might be serviceable. We will be hearing Howie say 'Carkner...fails to clear' about 23,000 times this season if game 1 is any indication.

Asking Finley to do anything except stand there and swing, would be asking too much.

Standard ****ing Islanders.

Lets scratch the best waiver pickup we had for the second straight. There is NO reason why Hickey should not be starting. I HATE this team. Fact: I would be a better coach/GM than Cappy/Snow.

And Okposo on the first line is an embarassment to fans everywhere. He is one of the worst players on the team and he was the worst player on the ice vs. New Jersey. Boyes played great in that first game and should be on JT's wing. Okposo should be on the 3rd line where he belongs.

I've rewatched the game and Nabby saved them so many times. This might be true.

Isles were sloppy but they didn't play so poorly. They had their chances too.

Okposo looked really sloppy and out of sync. The players who hadn't played didn't look great, though Boyes got better as the game went on (but he's new to the whole team as well, extra tough for him)

Hickey and Martinek should absolutely play against a team like Tampa.

Lol, exactly what I was thinking. Islander logic: We only allowed two goals, that's better than last season's average. So our D has improved and we are right on track! ... (sound of an derailing train with an unrealistic cinematic explosion)
