So MT went on and on last week about how Galchenyuk would basically only play wing this year if he stays up...yet he's at center today? I'm not complaining because I want to see him at C, but this is puzzling.
But again, like I wrote in the Eller thread, wait and see what they do tomorrow morning. Today may just be viewed as somewhat of a continuation of training camp.

Not complaining either because it's been driving me nuts since the WJC that nobody he plays with can get the puck to him.
I want to see him get a clean break and use his world-class shot. Is Sarault in Sarnia THAT good?

Therrien says one thing, does an other... I've noticed so far.
Reading Gaston's blog (interesting convos in there I'm actually surprised) and aparently the Leafs were trying to intimidate Gally in the opener. I indeed saw one sequence after the whistle where they were yapping him going back to the bench but I didn't realize it was part of their game plan.
It's interesting that he's already drawing assignments like that in his first game.

Could've been any rookie IMO.
I don't think it's a question of Galchenyuk being part of the game plan because of who he is and at what spot he was drafted but rather a question of intimidating a youngster playing his first game.
Didn't Therrien say he will try Galchenyuk everywhere? Where's the Cole-Galchenyuk-Pacioretty combo?
He also said he wouldn't touch the one line that went well all year last season unless there is a dramatic change in production. One game is obviously not a large enough sample size for such measures.

Well we only have five games to try him out, so yes I would like to see drastic changes after one game.

While I agree that we should try him in every situation including pairing him with our 2 best wingers the fact remains that DD will undoubtedly have more room when playing with big wingers.
I'm not sure I'd be too comfortable with DD centering a line with Bourque and Gio or seeing him on the wing with Plek as his center.
I'm not sure I like the idea of a Prust-Galchenyuk-Gallagher line. It seems strange to put a 4th liner with two rookies who should be playing in the top-six (for their appropriate level).
At the same time, nothing can be worse than that abysmal performance we witnessed on Saturday night (knock on wood).

I REALLY wanna see a line of Pacioretty-Galchenyuk-Cole. If not on 5 on 5, atleast play them for a few powerplays. I am a firm believer that as much success the line has had with Desharnais center-ing them, they would only experience more success with AGally at Center.
So we're going to see Galchenyuk vs. Huberdeau tonight. Maybe both centers against each other?
We will see Gally vs Hub 100% tonight, we just don't know if Gally will play center on the third line or return to the wing...
My prediction for tonight game is 1G1A for Gally (Yes I know is not realistic, but every time I do prediction about Gally, they occur, and I hope the best for Gally )
Here's some food for thought... and I hope I get some reaction - positive and most probably negative...
If Gally plays like s*** tonight, why not send him back to the O, once the O's playoffs are done, call him back up for his 3 games remaining... if he's average in those 3 games, call it a season, if he is the spark that the Habs need to make a push for the playoffs, keep him.
This way he gets to improve in the O before stepping it up in the big leagues.
