There's 2 things I really like about this ring. 1 being the bowl part of the Stanley Cup, it's not the usual diamond filled bowl shape. It looks like the actual bowl with the wavy lines, small touch but I like it. 2 being my favorite part, the font for "Stanley Cup Champions" is the same font the Kings use for their word markings. Again, something small but it adds a much more personal Kings touch to it.
It's not the best lighting in that photo. There's a lot of glare on the logo. If it were taken without so much light reflecting off the front it will look much better.

This must be the one they're handing out for the promotion. If that's the case then they look pretty cool for a fan promotion. The quality on the past real ones is much better (at least according to pictures...)
compare:
I've seen THIS one posted on the internet as well ?
So the one ZAD posted MIGHT be the one they're handing out for the promotion ?
Definitely seems that way. The black paint should be a dead giveaway
Though that ring is also not the real one as the shield is photoshopped onto an old ring design. We will see, confirm, and update it on opening night when we view it for the first time
Also, according to someone on Zad's blog, Jostens didn't win the bid, and the rings are being made by someone else. Something to watch for...

Helene's article in the Times this am said Leiweke gave rings to Dionne and Vachon. Nice.
I came in through the Star Plaza entrance yesterday. Leiweke was just past the metal detectors, with his ring. He was letting fans put it on & take their picture with it.
I'll be honest, I'm not much of a fan of his, but that was cool of him.
Lol! I'm not trying to start one of those classic GM debates but just think if they gave a ring to Terry Murray and other former Kings, than Taylor more than deserves one. Kinda like Bryan Murray laying the ground work for Burke in Anaheim years ago for their Cup
Like I said, I doubt this is the real ring. This has to be the promotion/fan ring they're giving out later this season. But having said that I'm sure the real one will look similar and have the home plate logo on it (probably in some black gem stone), and why not? That's the logo and colors we won under. There's no changing that now.
