Have to admit, as much as i liked the Leafs catching a break and playing the habs minus Subban theres no doubt in my mind the game would have been more interesting/intense had PK been playing.

First of all it was a joke, I love Gorges and think he's a heck of a player and second as much as Subban benefited from playing with Gorges it was vice versa. You think Komisarek, Souray and Streit got big contracts because they carried Markov? Sometimes you are the beneficiary of playing with a stud and as good as Gorges was last year this was the case IMO.
Unless Gorges is your kin, you cannot possibly say he had a good game on Saturday. I'm positive he will round back into form but just don't take things so personally.

Well, the Habs suck without him and someone might just offersheet him if it drags on enough. I'd say thats pretty good leverage. Maybe not leverage enough for 6m/year, but leverage enough to do a hell of a lot better than ~3. If they keep losing without him fans will be rioting in support of a fat payout.

So was Tyler Myers when he extended and he made a killing with a 7 year, $38.5m deal. How come he can manage to get that kind of a deal, and that too after the team had already signed an offensive d-man in Ehrhoff, and Subban cannot?
Desperate teams can and will acquiesce to a player's demands. Buffalo was desperate to build a championship team, so they threw money at Ehrhoff and Leino and extended Myers to a pretty lucrative deal. Should MTL fall in a few more games, then Subban has the leverage.

Yeah that's where the Habs are going wrong, not having a rich owner....
they are both very good d men, and close in top end potential. Both are cornerstones of their franchises and wont be moved, the last two years they have had similar production and both are similarly relied on to do everything.
I mean I dislike the Habs more than any other team but are people seriously arguing Buffalo having a rich owner and implying Habs don't? They are a top 3 financial team yearly and are owned by some no name Molson something-or-others.
