With Bogosian out, the Jets need blue line help. Carolina could use some forward help with Ruutu out. Let's keep this one simple -

Wheelers a likeable guy and the team's leading scorer last year. He also plays a position (RW) where we have pretty brutal depth. You won't get him that easy. However, he could be dealt in the right deal, this is not it.

If you're looking to acquire a 26-year-old player who had over 60 points last year and led his team in scoring, you'd probably better start with a defenceman who wasn't a healthy scratch on Saturday for Joe Freakin' Corvo.

Seriously, though, this isn't even close. You'd probably have to start with a name like Joni Pitkanen to get the Jets' interest and even that probably wouldn't be enough.

We're fine at centre. Jokkinen, Little, Scheifele, Burmistrov. It's right wing that we have a problem with depth.

Wheeler was our best forward last year. We would need a big return.
