I hate ********** that detract from the game you are watching.

How can you not like a guy who compared a Bruins victory to winning a battle in the Revolutionary War?

Keep the hatred coming, the Bruins organization feeds on it!!

I don't care if he's biased, he's very entertaining. I don't watch hockey to get a non-biased call of the game. I want to be entertained and as entertaining as the sport of hockey is, Jack Edwards is just the icing on the cake.

Also this... People around here make it sound like he's never agreed with anything called against the Bruins when he does all the time.

I imagine if Skip Bayless did play-by-play for a hockey game, it would be something like a game called by Jack Edwards.

hes one of my favorites. hope they never get rid of him, i think hes great.
hes not even that big of a homer.

hes wayyyyyyyyy better than Mike Haynes/Peter McNabb (Avs Homers) or (IMO) the insufferable Doc Emerick.

I never get why people complain about homerism from an announcer. Yes it can sound un-professional but they are playing to a majority that is there to cheer on the home team. Jack can be over the top but who really cares? I always thought he would be a terrific announcer for the WWE.

Oh look a 2013 edition of a I hate Edwards thread.
If you don't like him hit the mute button. Easy enough no?
Best in the business IMO.

I used to hate him but he's grown on me. He is not nearly as bias as everyone makes him out to be - he's frequently questioning calls that go in Bruins favor. And he very frequently tips his hat and gives other teams players credit for their ability.

I use to loathe Jack Edwards more than anyone. There are times where he is an abolute homer and its disgusting.

But sometimes he is the most honest broadcaster of any team in any sport. Sometimes he just tells the brutal truth weather its about the bruins or another team. That is very rare almost unheard of in the john gruden and pierre mcguire days of everything and everyone being real nice.

Jack Edwards is a huge homer, but he doesn't let it blind him too much.

I think "bias" is the most incorrectly used word on HF. Bias isn't something you are, it's something you have. Every time I see someone say "I am bias" it looks like saying "I am table". No, no you are not!

/end rant

Yes, Edwards is biased, luckily for fans of other teams they don't have to hear him that much!

People aren't complaining because he is a homer. We are complaining because he is an annoying jackass.

Edwards always gives the other team their due, always. At times his call for the other teams' goals seem too enthusiastic, at least more so than you'd hear from other broadcast teams.

He's a great play by play guy, he's just somewhat over the top at times but it doesn't bother me, it's entertainment.

This is true. He's an encyclopedia. He knows all the players and storylines and he's quick with the names and numbers on both teams.

He's nowhere near as homerish as Jeranette or that gong show in Pittsburgh.

Edit: it's funny how a Jack Edwards hate thread pops up when the Bruins are winning.

Hobey Baker joke aside (and that was embarrassing), Edwards makes Steigerwald look like a pro.

I will agree that he is entertaining and like the excitement, but the blatant homerism a lot of times forces him into calling a different game than is actually being played on the ice.

I watched some of their game today, and Edwards complained about every call against the Bruins.

Hate it when he starts calling a soccer game in the middle of my Bruins broadcast.

The most misused word is ironic; ironically of course. Honourable mention to people using an apostrophe to plural the Sedins.
