Noel admitted in the presser that LLW line was bad, but when asked why Burmi and Welly got less ice he said it was because he needed to get other guys going even tho he liked what he saw from Burmi and Welly. In other words, cause Ladd and Wheeler sucked today, Burmi and Welly got less ice, as opposed to sitting the vets and rewarding the young guys he does the opposite. That's the only thing I don't like about Noel.

It's a bit of a head scratcher isn't it? Sounds like wife logic.
Happy to hear that Burmi wasn't sitting because he was hurt atleast. Don't completely agree with Noel's reasoning, however, LLW needs to get going for us to have a chance at playoffs.

...or the definition of insanity. Doing the same thing, expecting different results. I guess in a warped logic sort of way, I get it, but it's not how I'd handle it.
Please don't tell my wife that I liked your wife logic thing to insanity, pretty please?
I gotta give Postma props on a good stick lift on that play though.
True, but the lower percentage play would be to force him wide, wouldn't you agree? Postma's got the wheels for it. I really hope Huddy can help the guy, he's got some nice tools.
Nah, it's his style. Pavelec is more of a positional goalie. Athletic goalies ie Quick, Garon, Thomas. etc are great in shootouts, positional guys like Pavelec, Bernier, Nabokov, etc are terrible in shootouts. That's just the way it works, generally.
Every scouting report on Pav says he has crap positioning and relies far too much on athleticism. I tend to agree.
The one thing I liked about this game is it showed how much depth we actually have. When LLW return to form and Kane & Jokinen develop better chemistry, we can roll 4 balanced lines.

They've a total of two goals scored in two games. They have a rookie offensive forward that is capable of creating some points; just a thought, maybe give Scheif a bit more icetime.
If they Keep Little with Kane and Olli, it should mean more ice for Scheifele. Wonder if that sticks and who gets the spot between Ladd and Wheeler. Gotta figure it is Scheifele or Burmi.
Hard earned point but the Bruins definalty carried the play. Although he was bailed out by the post 4 times, I thought Pavs played solid. Maybe bring Montoya in for shootouts though.

Phew. We need to keep that ready for when he decides to do it again.
That's definitely one of my favorite things with Burmi. Many people can play great D, stickhandle and things like that, but when that kid decides to knock someone down, it doesn't seem to matter who it is.
Does anyone else think we are running poorly constructed pp units:
There is no creativity down low on either.
PP unit number 2:
Kane and Jokinen don't fit together on the same unit as both bring the same elements to a pp i.e. net/slot presence. Both a triggerman and not set up men and the problem is is that neither passes well enough to get each other the puck in the slot. We need to place one on each pp unit.
1st unit, there is no slot scorer, Little and Wheeler don't scare opposing teams as shooters and as a result they take away our point shots. Ladd is a good net presence but once again an unbalanced unit.
My solution:
Play Scheifele with Ladd and Jokinin:
Ladd can win board battles and puck possesion and get to the front of the net. Jokinin can take faceoffs and get to the slot and let Scheifele distribute from the half boards.
Reunite Kane with Wheeler and Little. Little plays on the goal line and Wheeler the half boards while Kane roams the slot.
