It's been almost two years since Winnipeg has seen -30C temps (not including windchill of course). Too bad that trend couldn't have continued.

Hasn't dropped to -30C yet. So the trend is still there. Have to make it through the next few days though.

Anyone looking forward to a particular game tonight? I'm torn between Sabres - Leafs and Wings - Jackets.

Who can possibly look forward to a Blue Jackets game?

Nope, you can check it for yourself on the weathernetwork historical data. The lows haven't dropped below -28C or so.

I'm more interested in how Detroit does without Lidstrom. The Jackets also added a lot of pieces so it'll be interesting to see how that works out for them.

Interesting

I was sure it was last weekend. But you are probably correct.

On my way home from work and I'm going to try and catch the Blues game. Pietrangelo is my favourite player so they're tied with a few teams as my 2nd favourites.

We officially hit -32.9 C yesterday. The last time the temperature dropped to -30 C or below was February 25, 2011. Pretty good run...

This is from Environment Canada: http://climate.weatheroffice.gc.ca/c...ar=2013&Day=-2

Anything to keep a goalie from being traded there until at least Feb 7

People complaining about it being -24 C proper (no windchill) in these parts, I remember it being this cold here several years ago. Is this normal temperature in the Greater Winnipeg Area? I've only been in Winnipeg in the summer.

Yesterday morning it was hovering around -30 with a -42 C wind chill. More of the same coming up.

That's definitely not the norm though. I'd say -15 to -25 is the average around this time. January and February are a *****.

Today morning was a pain, I had forgotten what -40 windchill feels like . It was hard to breath properly for a while after stepping outside the house. I wonder what happens to the homeless in this weather
