Saw the thread and headed down, Gomez was there. Even managed to get a couple autographs from Thornton and Marleau

I think that will be a tough test for the Oilers home opener. They looked pretty solid vs the Flames (ya I know it was only the Flames)... but they have a vet lineup that didn't look all that rusty to me.

Plus the Sharks actually have depth in their scoring lines which the Nucks don't really have at the moment.

I'm looking forward to the game because if they can stay with the Sharks after that comeback vs Vancouver... would be a good sign the team is starting to come together quickly.

The Sharks have the type of team who can play a style that effectively neutralizes the Oilers. They are big, physical, and skilled.

But we do manage to beat them occasionally. Our advantage is speed.

Looks like they were impressed with the facility.

Well it is a fantastic facility. We need more of them in this city. Time to build another one and demolish one or two of the crappy old city rinks.

I'm not sure why the Sharks don't have more playoff success. They are certainly an enigma. You'd think by now they would have at least gone all the way to the finals at least once.
