Karlsson is a far more intelligent player, period.

The difference defensively isn't what Habs fans try to make it to be. Subban has the physicality factor, it's really all he has.

Both Karlsson and Subban make plenty of mistakes as normal to a player their age. Karlsson has better playmaking vision.

If forced to choose I'd take Karlsson over Subban precisely because of his offensive talent while still having a ton of defensive potential. But he gets the majority of his starts in the offensive zone for a reason, Subban is clearly the better defensive player right now.

And the numbers back me up http://www.habseyesontheprize.com/20...real-canadiens

And let's not forget Karlsson is already being paid very handsomely.

What a pass by Latendresse

Gift goal for Turris. Turris is off to a great start.

Edit: Holy crap, Orr beat John Scott. :|

I hate to say it but I'm so jealous of Ottawa's management it's not even funny.

Finding all these hidden gems in Sweden, taking a risk on Turris, finding vets like Lats to fill roles..putting skill first without sacrificing the holy "toughness"...

Like Lats didn't feel more comfortable avoiding the circus in Montreal.

If there is a model of how to relatively painlessly rebound from an imploding lineup they found it.

I think that they avoided dumping core players, even old ones, but traded the extraneous middle of the lineup types was smart.

Translating that to Montreal, it would be keeping Plekanec and Markov but trading the rest of the vets.

What about the Blues management, do they have a special player in Tarasenko or what

Agreed, if there's any model we should look at it's that. Keep the core, especially the homegrown vets, trade off older vets and declining role players, and be willing to take calculated risks. One thing that's encouraging in following that road from the Habs perspective is out scouting.

Another team rewarded by their scouting, development and willingness to draft Russians. He could be just what that team needed, assuming Halak can be good more than every other game.

Ironically, Ottawa could have had him instead of Turris. But they were scared of pick a Russian so traded for Rundblad which became Turris.

Ottawa got a cast of big forwards. Only Alfredsoon is under 6 f. and he is not the type to be scared.

Hopefully Prust can become our Neil.

2-0 Ducks now as Saku scores! Flames look bad! Another Collberg type prospect in early round 2?

haha, nice checking Cammalleri.

Calgary should have been rebuilding, terrible moves. They can still do it, an Should consider it big time, move Iggy and others and rebuild

Okay, if there's one team we might be better than, it's Calgary.

Well, their core forwards are all mostly over 6' tall but they are certainly skill first players. Nobody is afraid of Spezza, Alfie, Michalek, Silfverberg, Turris or Latendresse for their toughness, they are afraid of their skill.

They have a lot of quality physical, tough role players, and a bonafied goon in Zack Smith, but their top 6 is mainly perimeter talent.

Ottawa, Boston, Buffalo, even TO , all in our division... OMG ! What a long (shortened) season ahead. Fortunately we will have only 3 months to suffer.

But they are big bodies and cannot be pushed around like our Smurfs. Adding Gallagher to the mix is "awesome"...

Cammalleri looks like hot garbage, someone please tell me what a huge mistake it was when Gauthier traded him!

I'm completely serious when I say I miss Kostitsyn more than Cammalleri. Not that either were part of the solution.

Harder to rebuild when you have contracts like Dennis Wideman that you're locked into for the next five years.

Especially with Cammy making 6 million per for another season and wideman making over 5 for like 3 more. Good thing they have those buyout options. YUCK.
