I was hoping Detroit would be bad enough early in this short season to be desperate enough to want to deal for Omark and reunite that Swiss line. Might get a middling draft pick at least. Winning tonight doesn't help.

Indeed. You think they would have learned from the last few years...

Oh well, we've all seen this script before. Start off crappy, get hot in the middle, fade down the stretch and slot into that wonderful 9th spot.

He got excited even before Hemsky scored. And I don't mean Rod Phillips' raise the voice excited, I mean over-the-top Jack Michaels excited.

I actually enjoyed his call on that goal.

He really went all in on it though. If Hemsky hadn't scored it definitely would have sounded silly.

It's possible to convey enthusiasm without being way over-the-top, or to at least wait until the event (goal or save) has happened before you start going crazy. Phillips did it all the time.
