Agree completely. At this point, Bonino has done nothing to warrant a scratch. He has not done enough offensively to be on the 2nd line, but he has been damn solid in his own zone. 3rd/4th line center seems like what Bonino is going to be, kid has good hockey sense, just doesn't have the offensive or athletic skills to go along with it.

I thought C4 had a nice three zone game. I'm not sure if he's 100% physically though.

You can blame me for that. Rakell has always been my favorite prospect, so I tend to overrate him a lot more than any other young player. I apologize if it goes overboard sometimes.

These 3 days off will be good for him. But liked what I saw in his first game of the season.

Yup, how a guy scores his goals is the way you can tell of he can keep it up. Sometimes. Of course I know he won't keep up at a 96 goal pace that he's prorated to score in 48 games. It's also hard to believe he could even score 20. 10-15 maybe a stretch in a shortened season for a guy like him, but I do know he shoots a lot, he has been an offensive player in college, and other teams have toyed with the idea of him on a secondary PP unit. Just wondering if he would be fantasy relevant... eh, probably not. Just a hot start like Stacy Roest and Jim Dowd pulled one season for the Wild some 10 years ago. Still nice to see that kind of production from a depth guy.

I don't think so either. The look on his face on the bench showed that. He should be 100% by Friday.

Anyone think Bobby may be ill?

Yeah, I'm not for removing Bonino from the lineup. Just would like to see Holland get a shot on the 2nd.

You know, usually at this point in the season I'd hate the extra time off. In this case though? I like it. Fowler can get completely over the flu, but more importantly the Ducks have a little time to clean things up.

No, everyone but me hasnt realized that he's not even that. e.g. (and the only example i should need) Beleskey taking a wrist from the blue line and winding up the wrist shot well before. not sure what period, but it was this game.

Palmieri: This kid is legit. Darkhorse for Calder?

Getzlaf: Beastly so far and he actually looks fast. Enough said.

Ryan: Lazy and invisible.

Perry: Something seems off.

Fowler: Looking good.

DSP: Not so good and pretty bad defensively.

Bonino: I want to see Holland in his spot.

Rakell: Slick. I love the moves he tries.

Cogs: I actually dont hate him as much now. So far....

Koivu: Solid

Selanne: is Selanne.

Beleskey: Still horrible.

Overall: I dont think our defense is the problem. I think our forwards are the problem in our zone. But, I also said that when Carlyle was the coach so...

The 2nd line has been bad... Even strength Selanne just doesnt have the speed to open up lanes and is not aggressive enough in the defensive zone. Which is putting a ot of pressure on Bonino who might not be lighting it up offensively but he's been the first forward back and deep in the defensive zone consistently. Bobby has been close to getting a couple breakaways but just hasn't gotten a bounce. Not sure that line will be a good combo since Bobby really flourishes with cyclers. I'm really not sure Holland would make any difference.

Palmieri isn't Calder eligible.

ya. i think bonino's getting a lot of unwarranted hate here. ya the second line has been terrible but bonino really hasn't been bad. he's been stable in the defensive zone which is key because hes their defensive staple for that line. we know selanne isn't great defensively and ryan is alright.
offensively ryan and selanne really were off tonight. maybe they have the flu or what not but they need to get it together lol. doesn't help that ryan and selanne have 0 chemistry

Yeah they definitely need to work on some things defensively and Fowler can get over the flu. Win-Win.

He should see extra opportunities to put pucks on net playing with Cogs and Koivu though. The speed of Cogliano driving the middle really backs the D off and creates little pockets for Koivu to distribute the puck to Winnik coming in high or wide. I think it's a really good fit for Winnik to put up a career year type pace.

Ryan: Lazy and invisible.

.
Ryan is not playing lazy, he had a sequence in the 3rd period where he battled several times along the walls on defense and prevented Calgary from getting the puck anywhere dangerous
