When Ottawa wanted him the rumour price was a first round pick. Maybe a 2nd and a good prospect.

CBJ would love another 1st.

However I would prefer to see what he does this season. Him or RyJo stepping up would be nice.

Somewhat tempting however we have invested to much at this point to trade him away for that.

While I don't really think he would be worth the 1st, I imagine that would be the minimum price to land Brass. Even though he is more of a quality second line center than a first line player, he's (arguably) the best the jackets have right now. Combine this with the fact that we have no real need to trade him at this point (way under the cap, has another year left before RFA period) it is going to probably require an over payment to land him. I think that he will be a popular target this year at the deadline as secondary scoring depth for teams like Anaheim, Toronto, etc.

At this point that would be overpayment. He really is not what the Leafs need. He is probably worth more to them than to anyone else. I doubt he would make our team.

Let me qualify that by saying he is the type of player you want on one of your top two lines, not in a checking role.

Not what the Leafs need. A center with size is preferable

For the moment, he might as well still be. Right now, trading him doesn't make much sense unless we get an equivalent scoring forward back... which probably defeats the purpose of trading for him.

I'd give up quite a bit more for Ryan Johansen.

Oilers fans would probably ask you if you are throwing in Johansen in this deal.

Oilers fans know better by now than to ask such questions.

It would take a young forward equal to or better than Derick Brassard.

Translation : you really don't want to know.

I'm sure this has probably been mentioned on here before, but the Hawks would have interested should Bassard be available..

I would offer N. Leddy and a 2nd or a mid tier prospect

We don't need another defensive prospect, we are currently well stocked in that area. If the Jackets are out of it by the trade deadline, I would go for a late 1st round pick

He's better then Bozak... Therefore Brassard would be playing with Kessel and Lupul. I'm also quite high on him and think he could explode if he was put in the right situation.

We suspect something similar and so are attempting to create that very situation right here in Columbus.

Leddy is not a prospect and the Hawks will not offer him for Brassard.

That's nice. He's still not what we'd be looking for, simply by virtue of what position he plays.

I know and I agree. I wasn't trying to belittle Brassard, I just dont think the Hawks trade Leddy.

What sort of package would the Jackets be looking for from the Canucks, for Brassard?

Assuming Nicklas Jensen and Kassian are non-starters (i know, those are the most attractive pieces, but they're not gonna move when Canucks need youth and those cheap ELCs in the lineup with the cap going down)...is there anything the Jackets would have interest in there? Schroeder+? I'd part with Gaunce as part of a package. Of course Raymond is the obligatory mention. Rodin probably isn't of much interest? Picks could certainly be on the table as well.
