Looks like Connor Murphy is injured again, I hope this isn't related to the back problems he was having before we drafted him. I'm afraid he'll never make the big club if he continues to get seriously injured, he has a lot of potential if he can stay healthy.
I also don't believe this is related to the gold medal game. IMO this occured in the pretournament game Murphy and Team USA IMO made a conscious decision to play this tournament risking the rest of this season. Im disappointed as I've been Murphy's biggest supporter. We are under no rush but I sheepishly have to admit that this kid needs to just *** play some games. 30 game seasons are not acceptable. This kid needs to be an asset and right now he should be ahead of where he is. Instead of being part of our current log jam he's just a long term possible consideration. He should be a top 3 organizational prospect but now I would say he's dropped into the latter half of the top 10.

Question about Brett Hull while playing for PHX.

How many games did he wear #9 before switching to #16?

And did he ever wear #9 playing with your white jersey?

Thanks

I guess this is the place to post the question

Is Rundblad staying in the AHL this season or is he getting a shot with the Coyotes?

He's on the Yotes roster to start the season. Don't know how much of a role he'll have just yet.

Langkow and Schlemko

Any updates on these guys, where they are playing hockey this season? I know they played for the Coyotes last year.

Langkow is out of hockey and Schlemko made the team out of camp.

Anyone else wish we had taken Tarasenko instead of Gormley?

Won't know for 5 years or so. Gormley could end up a perennial Norris nominee shoe-in. Hard to say. It could be worse. We could have taken Fowler...

Considering how badly the Coyotes need scoring talent, I'd like to see them abstain from drafting D in the 1st round for the next 10 years or so.

Fixed that for you

And I was pulling for Fowler during the draft, mainly because I had recently really gotten deep into hockey and watched the Spitfires in the Memorial Cup. Boy am I glad that didn't happen!

Think about how this team is set up, both in regards to player type and budget. Tippett loves veterans, so there's really little point to drafting a guy for his NHL readiness. Veterans can be signed cheaply and represent little risk. They are arguably a better fit for a team coached by Tippett than some homegrown talent. I think this is doubly true for D. You can assemble a pretty solid group, and so long as they stick to the system they will be relatively successful.

So I say swing for the fences on the forwards wherever possible. If it doesn't work out, no loss. You've got far fewer spots open anyways. This is not a team looking to plug holes in 1-2 years with draft picks. Just draft a boatload of talent, let it marinade and see what you end up with. As good as Henrik Samuelsson is, his ceiling isn't that high. Safe picks are boring. Collberg or Aberg would have been more exciting. Swedes almost never end up totally useless.

I don't think our drafts are going to be very exciting under Knickle.

Sounds like what Detroit has been doing. Athanasiou, Frk, Jurco.

Mikkel Boedker

Hey, Sens fan coming in peace.

Just wondering what you guys think of Mikkel Boedker, his current level and what he projects to be? 8th overall looks to be picking it up a little bit.

He is a slow starter in points but is a beast on the ice. Very responsible defensively but also a danger offensively.

He needs to start being selfish. He is a playmaker with no finishers around him. He has a great shot but is hesitant to use it. He can break into the zone and make everyone look like they are slow, but then he doesn't do much with the puck.

Hey guys,

How has Lauri "Korpedo" Korpikoski looked ? He was totally dominating Sm-League during the lockout.

Doan has been pretty quiet the last few days. Is it a nagging injury, lack of ownership blues, or just a small slump?

Still pretty quick and good in both zones. I've noticed he's shooting a lot more often this year. I think he's still a 20-20 guy who is great in his own zone. He's great for this system.

Gormley

You think he might get a call this year?

I really don't think so. We have so much defensive depth. We'll give him the whole year in the A to adjust to the pro game and next year he might see some time as an injury call-up. Hopefully he'll be ready for full time NHL duty in 2014-15.

What's up with Hanzal's injury ?

He's missed a fair amount of games this yr with that "upper body" injury description.

Just wondering if it is the same injury this time as it was a month ago - which may point to some long-term IR time.

Would be bad for the Coyotes, as he has been a big X factor for them

Nobody really knows except that he was hurt in practice. He missed a good amount of games last season for the same deal. Think he was out 8 or so in a row at one point. That's when we had Cal O'reilly and O'Sullivan on the roster or whoever that was

It seems to be a recurring deal. Not good for him to be so injury prone. XX speculated its a lingering back issue. If so I'm not sure why he didn't have surgery in the off-season.

Hanzal seems kinda like Klesla, it's just always something. Bit frail. Still 60 games of Hanzal is pretty good, if our center depth wasn't terribad it wouldn't be nearly as big a problem.

Hey Yote fans,

Anyone know anything about Vrbata's injury status? I've scoured the net and can't find anything.

Thanks ya'll.
