The Rebels took on the Cougars tonight, trying to do what we did in Edmonton on thursday. But we failed. It's pretty amazing how inconsistent we are. But hey, that's the WHL. Doesn't matter for the most part how good your team is, it's who plays the hardest and doesn't give up.
We fell 3-1 to the Cougars. Joel Hamilton was our lone goal scorer. The story of the game was that we were outworked in about every aspect of the game. As Brent Sutter said best "You can't choose what night you want to show up and play." You gotta put your heart out there on your sleeve every night. Prince George played hard, they needed the 2 points and they got it. There goalie Mac Engel played amazing and there leader, Daniel Gibb the Captain was a force to be wreckin' with.
We cannot keep doing what we did tonight or we can kiss the season goodbye. We need a good bounce back game against the red Hot Meddy Hat Tigers tomorrow.
The Hitmen were ousted 4-0 by the said Tigers tonight. The Hitmen could've went up by a couple points on the Oil Kings but didn't. We were lucky on that one. Expecting a big comeback game looking to snap that 2 game loosing streak against Prince George on Sunday.

How about the Hurricanes beating the best team in the league (Portland) last night, and falling to Everett, who is below .500 tonight. Inconsistency is getting really frustrating.
The Rebels lose again. This time shutout by Medicine Hat, 3-0.. Wasn't Bartosak's fault he made 36/39 saves. It was our offence. Doesn't take a genius to figure that out...
Hoping for a much better effort against Brandon on Friday.
On a good note the Oil Kings finally snap out of the loosing streak and score some goals! We take a game over Prince George 6-1! Cheek, Lazar, Legault, Kulda and Samuelsson with a pair score for us. Brossy with 20/21 saves.
Big win leapfrogging over the Hitmen by 1. Rebels with a 4 point edge on a few teams, need a win though.
It was a fun night in Moose Jaw for the Oil Kings. We blast the Warriors, 7-0! We outshot them 38-13. Jarry only had to make 13 saves to record his 5th Shutout of the year. St. Croix, Foster, Lazar and Lowe all scored for us along with a Hatty from Cheek. Cheek also finished with 2 assists, so a 5 point night. Pretty sweet!
That win puts us 3 points ahead of the Calgary Hitmen for the Division/Conference lead. We play Saskatoon tomorrow, on the road.
The Oil Kings get back on track with a nice 4-2 win tonight in Saskatoon. They string a couple wins together and get back to that Oil Kings Hockey. Musil and Samuelsson added goals and the "Big Cat" Captain Reinhart puts home 2. Brossy was solid stopping 31/33 shots. Just overall a great game. Big win as we jump 5 points ahead of the Hitmen for the Division/Conference title!
We get a couple days off and then have a home game VS. Brandon on Saturday.
speaking of which, cole ully has been killing it lately. been on a tear since he came back from injury, himself souto and needham have been a great line.

They've been Kamloops best line as of late that's for sure.
Lots of fights at the end of the T-birds & Cougars game on Tuesday night. The last fight also almost included a goalie fight. The PG goalie threw off his equipment as the other fight was going on and started to go to center ice. The T-birds goalie then appeared to say "WTF OK" and headed to center but then the refs kept them separated. T-birds won 6-1
'Canes score the game winner with under 3 mins left to defeat Red Deer 3-2. These teams are so even matched, the previous 2 games both went into a shootout.
Hurricanes have to be very happy with the way the night went. Not only did they win but Red Deer, Swift Current and Medicine Hat all lost. The playoff race is so tight. Wow.
I think Kootenay is going to find a way to make the playoffs this year.
Sorry tv but I think the team that could be on the outside looking in at the end could be Lethbridge.
17 games left, 11 on the road and only six at home.
Bunch of games left against Kootenay so at least their fate will be in their own hands.
Medicine Hat has 18gms left, 10 at home and 8 on the road.
Kootenay has 19gms left, 11 on the road and 8 at home.
Huge road-trip playing Regina, Brandon, PA, and Saskatoon. Two teams that should be easy wins, and they have played P.A. really well this year and a win against Saskatoon would go a really long way, as they are in the thick of things. If they can get 3 wins on this road-trip that would be huge. Not to mention the Canes also have 3 games against Red Deer too, so they for sure hold their own fate.
Started the road trip with a 5-2 win in Regina, despite being massively outshot, something like 50-25. Need another 2 points in Brandon tomorrow.
