Kules has horrible body language, his contract was an issue and he doesn't seem to be able to find his way back. I think he should be moved the next hot streak he goes on, just hoping that comes. He can certainly fetch with pits.

He's going to have a great year. He played below average the first 2 games but he'll bounce back and surprise a lot. He had 38 points in 36 games playing in the KHL.

It's weird because things seemed to be clicking in Russia for him too, you'd think he would have carried over that momentum here. He always looks so googly eyed and confused.

I think he's destined to ride a superstars coattails and haunt us when he's moved on. The key is to get great value in return for him, since we don't want a Steen the Sequel.

Nah Man its been 1 1/2 years of watching him do nothing. That 2nd line had too much time now to gel. Lupal-Bozak-Kessel are flying and they 2/3's of that line didnt play overseas. The KGM line needs to be changed, its been long enuff, how do you justify that its been 3 years they have been on the same line.

I think he looked better yesterday. But still, Kulemin is a shadow of what he was couple years ago.

The entire line has been mediocre since their high point in 10-11, when they snuck up on teams. They haven't been able to reproduce this form since, care to disagree? Or am I onto something here?
I'm not gonna sit here and say that Grabo has been great, he does have to improve. But when you have a line-mate who is under-performing to the lengths that Kule is it's hard to get going. Both goals last night were a direct result of lousy plays by your defensive hero in Kulemin and can in no way be blamed on Grabo or Mac.

It's not his fault either Lupul and Kessel couldn't finish off great Bozie passes last night.

FYI, what does the entire 2nd line has been bad mean I haven't been critical of Kule.
Bozak while he has been playing fantastic hockey so far and even though his line hasn't been scoring, Kessel is at least creating chances and isn't a black hole on offense.

You haven't been hard on Kule because right after you say the 2nd line has been bad you go on a long rant about how it's all Grabo's fault and never mention the other 2.

What was our defensive stalwart-who-does-all-the-heavy-lifting-for-his-linemates' role in the second goal against last night? Coughing up the puck on a stupid soft play and then watching the resulting odd-man breakout deposit the puck in the back of our net.

What was our defensively inept low hockey IQ center doing on the play? He was the first forward back and took his man out of the play right to our net.

scenario 3 is very unlikely IMO. they will need him to be producing to be in PO picture

Kind of obvious, isn't it? 2 and 4 bring his value back up to where it was after the 10-11 season, whether the team makes the playoffs or not is irrelevant. 1 brings his value to an all-time low. 3 is not going to happen IMO because this team is not good enough to overcome one of our top 6 forwards becoming a 4th liner.

I'm one of his biggest fans, but it's not difficult to see how bad he's playing. Just seems totally unmotivated playing as a Leaf. Making mistakes all over the place. Not checking aggressively. Doesn't even feel like waving to the crowd when his name is announced. It's like he's lost his connection with Canada and what it means to be a Leaf. Then again, being a 'Leaf' has lost a lot of its potency during his time here. One could say the same thing about being Canadian with many wanting to ship immigrants out of here, but I'll leave that alone.

Smaller ice surface, faster game, line mates who are only as good if the entire line is working at the same time, tragic death of fellow countryman/friends/hockey players, young family to take care of.

That said, I do think he had at least a couple of good, aggressive shifts near the end of the game last night (along with Grabo). It was such an obvious change from just a few shifts before that it makes you wonder if it was the coaching staff giving them the pep-talk and them actually attempting to execute.

We'll see how it plays out. I'm still hopeful for him turning it around as a Leaf, but maybe a change of scenery would be the best for everyone.

Pittsburgh trade to be with Malkin again? Just don't know who you'd get back.

I don't think that's fair. There are plenty of us who know what we're looking at who think he's been more or less 'doing nothing.' Even if you want to argue that he was good defensively last year...being sound defensively with zero offense is nothing. Anybody who can skate and is Kulemin's size can be strong defensively in the NHL if that's all they're focusing on.
