C'est donc dire que Lars Eller ne jouera pas ce soir face aux Panthers

This team is a joke.

Ridiculous. I hope it's a one time thing just to see how Gallagher will play.

Eller was invisible in game 1 but its 1 game.

Not a big fan of having two rookies together right now either with a combined 1 NHL game, Galchenyuk should be insulated by two veterans if he's playing center..

Won't be surprised to see him get benched if he makes one mistake defensively.

"No Excuses"- Only applies to players not named Armstrong, Prust, White, Boullion, Desharnais, Pacioretty and Cole.

Also it was ridiculous to expect anything from him offensively considering he was playing with two guys who haven't played yet this year.

As for Eller, just like Leblanc, he needs to take his game up a notch.

- Therrien wants to test/see Galchenyuk at C
- Gallagher's speed will help this slow looking team
- Gallagher must play on the top 3 lines
- Prust and Bourque played a decent/good game vs the Leafs

So... instead of Eller, who would you send to the press box? Cole?

It's a bit weird, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now. Maybe Eller didn't show up in as good a shape as others. I just hope he doesn't turn into the whipping boy.

I think Gallagher turns a few heads tonight. Just a hunch. Hopefully sitting lights a bit of a fire under Eller and he comes back with a vengeance.

I don't mind Eller being scratched. He needs a wake up call.

I think he has all the physical tools, but needs to bring it every night.

And yes, I know other guys stunk on Saturday as well.

Yeah that is the line, here are the lines from MAG

He should be in shape, he's among those who played in Europe.
Unless both Gallys are able to prove that they are true NHLers in the next couple of games, Eller wont be out for long imo. A few defensive mistakes and Lars is back in.

I remember very clearly how Therrien took forever to trust Markov (basically nearly 2 full years) and how Patrick ****ing Traverse played a lot games ahead of a young Ron Hainsey in 2002-03.

In short, nothing surprises me with this guy's handling of youth and we're not off to a good start. AT ALL.

Before anyone brings up ''ok but what about PIT?'' Crosby and Malkin were stars the minute they stepped onto NHL ice. Letang really only took off under Bylsma. The one I'll give him credit for is Staal at 18, but it's not like it was some amazing discovery, he was the #2 pick in the draft.

But that shouldn't even be the issue. There's no reason to bench Eller at all. Benching him is singling him out when they entire forward group played like crap.

What's the issue here?
I know there's no reason to bench Eller, but your post is contradicting.
You're saying Therrien is bad with youth. But he's benching Eller to give Galchenyuk his own line to center, and Gallagher a shot at the 3rd line. We're talking about a 18yo and a 20yo. lol

Thanks; I like this line-up and I can’t blame Therrien to shake things up after Saturday’s fiasco.

-------

I will repeat my question because it was quickly buried in a quick and strong flow of replies!

- Therrien wants to test/see Galchenyuk at C
- Gallagher's speed will help this slow looking team
- Gallagher must play on the top 3 lines
- Prust and Bourque played a decent/good game vs the Leafs

So... instead of Eller, who would you send to the press box? Cole?

Habs fans complained Koivu was too short at 5'10''. We needed more "size down the middle".

Now that 5'5'' Desharnais is scoring 60 points, with babied minutes, with two wingers better than anybody Koivu ever had for more than 10 games at a time, some habs fans are celebrating.

Now I know you're making crap up. Very few people complained about Koivu.

White, Armstrong. If you are preaching "no excuses", then you practice what you preach. You don't apply it only to certain players. And if performance is the reason of the benching of Eller, then maybe Cole should sit. Why single out a player who wasn't the worst one?

Bench Armstrong, slide Moen to the 4th and play Gallagher and Galchenyuk with Eller. White did nothing last game too.
