What a joke, P.K is a real cancer for any team, you
will hope one day they offer him a Gomez recipe.

Is this one of those new fangled computer games?

Terrible, terrible trade.

Should at least buy dinner before doing that to somebody.

Do you know who Bergeron is? Even Hamilton for that matter?

From one extreme to the other, huh? The joke's on you.

Obviously a bad deal for BOS, and MTL would take it in a heartbeat, other than a few people with homer goggles. Exchange Bergeron for Krejci and have MTL add another prospect (maybe a Kristo?), then you might get some talks going.

But still extremely doubtful from both sides.

I'd love PK here in Boston but this is just bad.

I wouldn't trade Bergeron for PK.
I wouldn't trade Marchand for Eller
Hamilton for a 2nd?

From the Bruins' standpoint, that's a horrible deal.

First, Bergeron is the reigning Selke winner. He's the heart of the team, and in line to be captain after Chara retires. No one on the Bruins does the combination of things he does. He is the go-to forward of the team.

Second, Marchand is the team's agitator and one of the speed guys. He's unique on the roster.

Third, Hamilton is not a stay-at-home defenseman. He may not transform into a winger like Buflugien, but he's projected to be a PP QB and overall scoring threat from the blueline. He's already shown a willingness to jump into odd-man rushes.

So, your idea would gut one of the scoring lines, giving Seguin no top 6 wingers to play with and have the Bruins give up their best asset, ensuring they don't make the playoffs for at least this year.

No thanks.

Subban is hated by the players, fanbase and is simply an egocentric
selfish crybaby asking for 6 mil a year on long term contract.

The mistake the Habs did was the trade of Mcdonnagh vs Gomer....

He knows that they need him since they are low on prospects at D
(Diaz,Weber,Iemelin,Bouillon and a broken Markov, only Gorges
can be considered as a legitimate top 4 defense.)

Subban and Plekanec to the Wild or Islanders

I personally believe that the Habs need to completely blow it and rebuild, had than state of mind since last year. Assuming Subban asks for a trade would Wild and Islanders fans accept these trades.

To NYI: Subban and Plekanec
to MTL: Strome and Reinhart

With such a trade the Islanders have potentially a playoff team for the first time in...forever.

To Min: Subban and Plekanec
to MTL: Brodin and Coyle

This move also gives the Wild insane depth while also keeping a very solid prospect pool with Dumba, Granlund, Phillips, Zucker etc...

On the other hand both trades give Montreal solid prospects and enables them to tank properly and go ahead and acquire a Mackinnon, Jones or Drouin in the off season.

Those are a lot of good pieces coming our way and we definitely win this trade but they aren't the right ones aside from Dougie who would be the starting point.

Realistically it would be PK for Hamilton + 1st + 2nd or B forward prospect.
Since the trade is intra divisional though, the asking price would be Hamilton + 2x 1st.

Why not add Tyler Seguin too? With your logic we could throw in Gallagher and everything would be fine This is terrible for the bruins.

Why would the Habs do these...especially the second one. The second one is horrible.

We aren't low on D prospects, we're low on d men who are able to play at a high level on D right now,

I don't see why the Habs would do it. Subban is young enough that he will still be in his prime after even a 5 year rebuild. I could see them moving Plek at the deadline though for a first or good prospect +.

I agree that proven is better than unproven but when you need to blow it up and rebuild you have no choice but to gamble and trade for unproven assets.

Again, this is assuming Subban demands to be traded.

Subban reportedly loves being a Hab and wants to stay. I'm not sure if he's asking for $5m per or $7m per. I've read different amounts.

So, the deep pocketed Habs can't re-sign Subban, but the cash strapped Isles will have no problems?

If I'm Boston I wouldn't trade Hamilton for Subban straight up

So Bruins give up 2LW, 2C and good prospect Stay-at-Home D-man to acquire a potential franchise D-man (with the mean attitude Bruins love), a good 3C (to allow Seguin to move up) and a 2nd in what looks like a deep draft, that could be a high 2nd.

I can't remember if Bergeron or Marchand have said one way or the other how they'd feel about playing for the Habs (it's not for everyone, especially francophones), but this is a huge boost to the grittiness and speed that the Habs are looking for in their top 6.

The loss of PK would be hard, but the Habs have their PMD back in Markov, and have options in the system, not to mention a deep draft upcoming. The Habs will be in a position where they can move Plekanec at the deadline to get their 2nd back, with interest (as he'll be expendable with Galchenyuk ready to grow into the 1C role and a high-end C prospect available in the draft).

Boston certainly looks like the winner at the on-set, because the tandem of Chara and PK would be terrifying, but the loss of Marchand and Bergeron would not go unnoticed.

This trade speaks to areas of strength for both teams though.

What does everyone else think?
