Since we took Kromer, maybe he could convince Bushrod to follow him to Chicago

Aye. Any of those 3 improve us. I also like Barret Jones if we can somehow land him.

I think we need to add a quick/fast WR to the shopping list. Hester is done at WR and Knox isn't coming back. We need a guy who can take the lid off the D, and run those short/quick routes too.

Agreed but it seems like you can find speed wide receivers later in the draft.

Agreed. Certainly doesn't have to be a 1st/2nd rounder.

maybe personnel wise, overall, biggest problem with offense was playcalling/play design imo and that*should* improve massively this year.

lack of a te is killing us as well. shame too since we had a good one who our qb liked.

Bears had to go with many 2 WR sets and keep TE's(Extra TE's) to help OL

Hard to design plays when your OL cant do anything without TE's covering both Tackles

such a cop out. the bears oline is bad, other teams also have bad lines and still manage to scheme around them. there was little playaction, not enough screens, not enough dump off options, weak ass route combinations and just a total lack of creativity in general. we all know I'm no cutler fan, but he was hardly put in a position to succeed.

A guy I like that we can get in the 6th round or maybe UDFA is Lanear Sampson from Baylor. Good returner that can also take the top off a defense.

This.

Look, the Packers gave up more sacks this year than the Bears, didn't stop them from running 3-4 wideouts and quick passes. Tice CHOSE to keep 2 TEs to block for the O-Line (still didn't work often) and then was surprised when the 2 WRs in routes couldn't really get open with 4-5 DBs on them, and Cutler had to throw it up to Marshall.

Lots of ways to make up for a poor O-Line, the 2012 Bears showed us one way not to do it.

Right now scouts are grading him out at a 30, so yea, probably won't be hard to get him. I'd prefer someone with a little more credentials other than just speed though.

Bushrod makes sense, but he will get alot money. Levitre would solve our LG problems and should get less than Bushrod

So about Gruden owning Oakland in the Super Bowl:

According to receiver Tim Brown, it's no surprise Jon Gruden's Tampa Bay Buccaneers thrashed the Raiders 48-21 in Super Bowl XXXVII because Oakland was "sabotaged" by Bill Callahan, the team's head coach at the time, who changed the game plan at the last minute.

Brown's comments to SiriusXM NFL Radio on Saturday were reported by ProFootballTalk.com, which was provided audio of his remarks.

Brown said when the Raiders got the game plan on the Monday before the Super Bowl, it was a run-heavy attack taking advantage of Oakland's size advantage on the offensive line. However, Brown said Callahan scrapped the plan on Friday to the shock of the team.

"We all called it sabotage ... because Callahan and Gruden were good friends. And Callahan had a big problem with the Raiders, you know, hated the Raiders. You know, only came because Gruden made him come. Literally walked off the field on us a couple of times during the season when he first got there, the first couple years."

That's complete bull. A head coach in a Super Bowl wants to win that game. Maybe changing course was the wrong move but it wasn't done with the intention of losing.

Yeah..... no offense, but Brown just sounds like he's got a mad case of being unable to let something go. Gruden obviously outcoached the **** out of Callahan, but the notion that an NFL head coach wouldn't give it his all in the Super Bowl? Fat chance.

As coldsteel said, he may have very well made a egregious strategic mistake in trying to change things too late, but that's it.

That's almost as crazy as when a bunch of Hoosiers started spreading a conspiracy theory that Manning intentionally threw the Super Bowl against the Saints to help make Louisiana feel better.

Brown and Callahan didn't get along if I remember

Such a BS statement by Brown ,, Yeah Calllahan would sabatoge his own career by throwing SB :

If Callahan wins that game he could still be HC in NFL (You can mil a SB win for alot of years)

Brown was dogging Trestman a week or two ago. He seems to be an unhappy person now.

Albert or Bushrod are more realistic options to make it to Free Agency

Tim Brown continues to sound more like an idiot everytime he opens his mouth. First the Trestman bash, which was clearly sour grapes that he was the #2 WR to Jerry Rice that year, now this. Don't see how anyone can give any thought to what this guy says now.

Scott Van Pelt is a ******. He was sticking up for Trent Dilfer being mocked/criticized for not being a great QB. He then went on to say that Trent has a ring as a starting QB for a Super Bowl winner, and therefore his opinion is greater than any of his listeners, and that Trent is smarter than everyone else in regards to football.

Give me a ****ing break. No wonder I never listen to you.

Dilfer probably goes to his parties and acts like his friend, now Van Pelt acts like the guy is his ****ing brother. Complete speculation but that is what this looks like to me.
