Mason to TO with a mid round pick
Reimer and Connoly to CLB
TO fans are going to have to face it ,Reimer is a back up or AHL Goalie. Mason has stunk lately but could turn things around on a new team.
Connolly offsets Masons contract roughly

This is the worst proposal i have seen in a long time. Somehow manages to piss off both fan base's.

lol
Reimer will not be in the NHL next yr
Mason will be a UFA cause no one will pay him his RFA numbers
Connoly is a waste of cap space
throw some picks in the mix to make it fair.

Just no point. The only chance Mason has is going to a system that puts him in a position to succeed and Toronto is not that.

So Reimer is a career back up or AHL starter but Mason could turn it around?

was Mason not a top young G at one time? Reimer was in the ECHL , Leafs were desperate and he had a good run for 20 games.

Columbus would absolutely love to give you a pick to pay the rest of Tim Connolly's salary and to get a goalie who is signed through 2013-2014 and who last year was almost as bad as Mason. Nevermind the fact that we would be off the hook of Mason's contract this summer anyway. We'll also throw in Boone Jenner just for the hell of it!

Reimer is just as much a "young top, POTENTIAL" goalie as Mason. You have no idea what you're talking about.

It's hard to get a Calder trophy on the Columbus Blue Jackets.

We're going to go with "no" on this one. Makes no sense for us to do it.

I would have taken Mason in a heartbeat local Ontario kid only if he could even come close to his rookie form unfortunately he hasn't improved ever since.

Both are 24 years old
Last 2 seasons
Reimer 71GP 34W 24L 9OT 6SO .911 Save% 2.83 GAA (Leafs 25th GA/G (2010-11) 29th GA (2011-12))
Mason 100GP 40W 47L 10OT 4SO 0.898Save% 3.21GAA (Jackets 26th GA/G (2010-11) 28th GA (2011-12))
Why are you so convinced that Reimer will be an AHL goalie while Mason will be great again?

Given that Reimer's "moment of glory" season was two seasons ago, this isn't exactly a fair comparison.
That said, the supposition it's being used to refute is equally loopy, so I suppose that makes it OK.

I think it just highlights that Reimer has been not awful in the
less distant past

I might be the only one willing to give Mason a shot. I don't think he's as bad as the numbers indicate he is on columbus after all and caryle system might be perfect for him. that said not this deal

Please, random Rangers fan, please enlighten us poor old Leaf fans about the harsh truths of our team and how a worse teams trash would turn to gold.

Why does Toronto want Mason? Don't they have enough 1B-type goalies?
Why does Columbus want Connolly? To give you a pick? What role would he play?
Neither team does this.
