Togo equalize with the last kick of the first half, poor marking by CIV on a corner kick

Togo goalkeeper made a bad mistake which led to the CIV winner but Togo had a golden chance to equalize in the 93rd minute but Barry made a great save

Hopefully coach Vahid will start both Soudani and Boudebouz in the next 2 games

We need offense

Msakni did very well at the AFCON last year, though looks like he is stuck playing in Qatar

Algeria were the better team but no end product, Tunisia were strong defensively

Im afraid Vahid will start Slimani (alone upfront) vs Togo and CIV because most of our players are midgets, he will try to match the size of those 2 teams

However, I would to see 2 strikers - insert Soudani who makes things happen and can put the ball in the net, I still dont undestand why he didnt start

And start Boudebouz, for **** sake, he is a headcase, but he is very talented

Good to see nothing has changed.

one thing I noticed in this tournament is the awful shooting accuracy, I mean in some games you can count the shots on target with one hand.

Though I think the games will get better in the second group matches as teams will be less defensive

I remember previous African cups being better than this... I watched a few games and they put me to sleep...

Missing some big teams/players as well. Might factor in.

South Africa with a convincing 2:0 victory over a poor Angola side who didn't offer much offense.

In the other group game Cape Verde and Morocco play to a 1:1 draw. Cape Verde dominated the first half but in the second half they sat on their 1:0 lead and allowed Morocco back into the match

1. South Africa 4 +2
2. Cape Verde 2 0
3. Morocco 2 0
4. Angola 1 -2

South Africa vs. Morocco
Cape Verde vs. Angola

Still a wide open group, Morocco will be without Belhanda for the SA match as he picked up two yellow cards in the opening two matches. Cape Verde have done well so far, maybe a little too defensive in the 2nd half of today's match

So glad the ESPN feed today has the background crowd noise.

Watching these matches without the ambient vuvuzelas is like watching West Ham matches without their racist chants and violence.

Niger - DR Congo is a good game

Good chances for both teams

Mbokani has been robbed of 2 goals by great saves
