I don't think they'd have much interest in Adam. He's a prospect whose value is diminishing by the week. I'd imagine they'd want a high upside prospect plus a little something else. I'm thinking it'd take something more along the lines of McNabb + Catenacci to get Garth thinking about it.

No, seriously. If the Isles are interested in Brennan/Adam, then I'd probably do the trade.
Someone would blow that offer out of the water. Brennan is not a high-value asset, nor is Adam. Someone's going to have to pony up a nice prospect. The Isles hold the cards. Nino can stomp his feet all he wants, he's stuck with the Isles for the foreseeable future.
Garth would be wise to let this blow over a bit, and then make a hockey trade in a month or two.

Luke Adams value is near zero right now. He's not even doing well in the AHL which doesn't bode well for his future. He definitely is worth no where near Nino Neiderreiter. Nino had a rough year in 2011 but atleast he is around a PPG in the A this year.
I'd offer Pysyk straight up for Nino. I'd prefer to hang onto McNabb, he may be struggling but his overall skillset and size has me hesitant to move him. I have no problems moving Pysyk or Armia in possible trades because I don't think either will pan out 100%.
If the Isles even consider it, Armia is probably their starting piece. Pysyk is going to be a fine defenseman, but I can't see the Isles taking him alone without another very good piece involved. Again, that's if the Isles were to even consider it.
Perhaps Columbus gets interested as they have a lot of younger guys, many with a lot of upside, and the Johansen-Niederreiter combo has done well in the past? Nino's got very little leverage and the Isles really have no need to move the kid.

I agree that Pysyk as the centerpiece likely does not get it done. And that's why it'd come down to how they feel about McNabb. If they see him as the big, physical top-4 defenseman they're sorely lacking, maybe they consider with him as the centerpiece.
The Islanders would likely only move him for an overpayment, as they have all the leverage. While he seems to have progressed this year in the AHL, he's still an unknown commodity, so the question is how much are you willing to part with.
Trading Armia doesn't make much sense. The idea of adding Nino is to shore up our weakest link in the prospect pool--top 6 wingers. Replacing one with another--and then likely adding assets on top of that to make the trade--does not make much sense.
I'm not really familiar with the Isles depth chart, so this criticism might not be entirely fair...but one would think he would've cracked the Isles lineup coming out of the lockout, given his talent and previous NHL experience (as uneventful as that was), and the fact that their the Islanders, they've never been known for their depth. I suppose that assumes he is NHL-ready right now, which may not be the case...if not, someone who has followed him more can chime in on how close he is to making the jump to the big league.

That's definitely a problem. Sabres are loaded at wing (quality AND quantity imo) for the next couple seasons. If there's a way to work him into the team's plans then a deal can be made considering the Isles still need defense, despite their 10,000 waiver pick-ups.

What did Turris return again... Rundblad and a second? I'd say a roster player, McNabb or Pysyk and a second is our comparable then, but Snow doesn't have to move Niederreiter at all. I doubt that Brennan and/or Adam would be enticing enough prospects to move him.
As for the situation, I think it's more likely posturing by Niederreiter's agency to get him a call-up. I'm sure he wasn't pleased seeing AHLers like McDonald and Aucoin get NHL looks/minutes, meanwhile he doesn't even earn a camp invite with his 19+17 in Bridgeport.

Yet the Isles have no reason to deal Niederreiter if they aren't getting a high quality piece in return. If Snow entertains it, he has to be looking for a high-skill guy and from Buffalo, that's pretty much Armia. I'm not too keen on it as I'd like to see what Buffalo has in their Finnisher, just looking from the Isles side. I suppose my point was simpler put as "Adam-Brennan-and-a-2nd is **** all bad".

Snow has said he wants Nino playing high-quality minutes in all situations in the AHL this year, and that's what he's doing. In the Isles' minds, he's not yet fully ready, so why not play some tweener filler at the NHL level to let the kid round out his rough edges with AHL games? It has to be the agent posturing. Too bad it's gone public.
