Emerson Etem plus is my guess. They aren't going to give him up for dirt cheap.

So GM's dont acquire people by potential?? Its only about what they show in the NHL?? If this were the case no one would ever be drafted, ever. lol

Damn you Snow.

Doesn't he realize, how many wet dreams he's interfering with?

There are two proposals in this thread that hold appeal: Doughty for Nino+ and E. kane for Nino +.
When has a player who demanded a trade ever been dealt for a better player? Especially players who are already better than the potential of the player in question. Maybe there's an example of either one but I can't think of it.

He isn't getting moved.
Don Maloney swore up and down that Phoenix would NOT trade Kyle Turris. It was just leverage in contract negotiations and trade talks. No GM is going to come right out and say "Whelp, he wants out, so I guess we'll have to just take whatever we can get for him..." You have to make it apparent that you are willing to ride it out until the bitter end, if you are going to salvage any leverage. Just look at the CBA negotiations. It's how this works. If a trade demand goes public than that player will be traded. It might take a long time, and it might have to get really ugly first, but it will happen.

I think Subban's worth Carlson type money($4m per).

I'm hoping the isles can get Hamonic signed, using Carlson's contract as the measuring stick.

Big difference...Turris was unsigned.

Nino has absolutely no leverage. He either plays for the Isles/Bridgeport or he never plays hockey again.

If Nino asks for a trade late next season, it could be a bigger deal.

It doesn't matter because Nino is not being dealt. Strang was overzealous in her reporting and Nino's agent wants him in the NHL (no surprise).

Meanwhile, Nino is probably just chilling out while all of this is going around him. Totally out of character for him to pull this in the first place.

wonder if a team was willing to take Dipietro in the process, if that would entice Snow to make the move???

from the Habs, i'd offer something like this:

To NYI
Gionta or Cole
Weber (or Kaberle if they preferred a more expensive, veteran bottom pairing PMD/PP dman)
Budaj
Nsh 2nd

To MTL
NN
Dipietro
Vishnovsky (if the isles wanted to get rid of the headache)

amounts to

gionta/cole + weber + 2nd + a ton of cash (habs obviously amnesty Dipietro at end of the season)

for

NN

a bit "quantity" for "quality" (viewing DP & Vish as solely $$ being traded), though Cole was a 30 goal guy last year, and gionta is consistently at 25+ per 82 games.

ultimately comes down to Wang... i'm sure potential of saving Dipietro's $$ would entice, and for Snow it would mean extra $$ to spend in the lead up to the 2015-16 shift to Brooklyn.

not sure many other teams have the $$ & need to be willing to spend the DP amnesty on adding an unproven NHL prospect (granted, despite his terrible NHL debut, NN's play this year seems to point to a future star).

Didn't those both come from you?

Can't see either one done without the + being huge.

Honestly don't see much happening in regards to this anyway. The kid is under team control for 6 more years. Either he plays and earns his way up, or the team tells him to take a 6 year vacation.

I think a 6 year - $4M/per would be the ballpark for Hamonic. Of course, it would be backloaded because you know Wang doesn't want to shell out big bunks until 'The Move'.

Not a chance in the world...what is the big ticket coming over to the Isles, an old, no-need-for veteran, or a trash back up goalie?

I'd be unhappy too if the team that drafted me treated me like i didn't exist after a 55 game season of brutal failure.

Don't see how Katie was overzealous...nobody has denied that the agent asked for a trade.

I tossed out Nino+ Ness for Evander Kane, but would not be unhappy if Snow packaged Nino+ 1st.

I think with kane in the top 6 and Vis expected to join the top 4, that the NYI first would be closer to 12-15, then 5th overall.

Turris was not traded until after he had signed, dressed, and played for Phoenix. When it became clear he was willing to sabotage his own team on the ice, we was a healthy scratch until traded.

Say Nino takes his ball and goes home. Then he may be under contract, but he's really not doing anyone in Isle Country any good, and an bad situation just got worse.

If this trade demand goes full on public, he's gone, and you'll be glad to be rid of him. I'm a Coyotes fan, so I've been through this a couple of times.

Do not trade your first round pick. Unless it's to my team. Seriously, though, you are going to want to hang onto that sucker.

Of course those hold appeal to you, they HEAVILY favor the Isles. The fact that Doughty's name has even been brought up is hilarious.
