Colaiacovo's best career moment was letting Samuel L. Jackson play him in Unbreakable.

Carlo Colaiacovo could spend three weeks on the IR with a stubbed toe, if only Scott Nichol could give him some leftover toughness. I'm convinced that he could survive a nuclear blast, that guy has heart.

Brunner just did the Datsyuk! He didn't roof it like Dats, but it was still great.

I think the Jackets are going to be a rough team to play against this year, though. They are no longer the floormats that they have been recently.

Yeah that was pretty filthy, had to see it in slow mo to comprehend it lol. Also, CBJ aren't going to be an easy w anymore. They're not going to do anything fancy and they probably won't be all that great for a while but they're building something and have some direction finally.

CBJ/Det. In the shootout.

Datsyuk, Filppula & Zetterberg all miss. Also 1st 4 Jackets miss.

Brunner scores. Detroit wins in shootout. Boo! Hiss!

Yes! A fantastic toe drag that just squeezed through the tiny crack between the goalies closing skate/boot and the post. Unbelievable and very lucky.

Never mind! The Blues shouldn't have to worry about Detroit this season, because of their weak defence.

Good goal, but what surprises me is how close Bob was to saving it. Hate to see Detroit getting those points though.

Apparently Carlo hurt his shoulder tonight and will be out for "weeks" according to coach Babcock.

Guy must be cursed, I just feel bad for him at this point. Oh well couldn't happen to a better team!

Too bad for CBJ. I agree they won't be the pushovers they were last season, which is hilarious because the Rangers on the other hand (my favorite Eastern team) have been pretty bad in their first two games. Maybe they just need to get back up to speed, but I was never confident of their trade for Rick Nash. Anisimov and Dubinsky are great players.

I'm not really down on the Rangers honestly. They had to play two very good teams. They haven't looked great, but I still think they will win the East, in the regular season and the playoffs.

Either that or he's just a ****....
I think hes a bit of a flincher now, and I think that can sometimes make him take more force than he otherwise would.

Hmm, not too sure about that. They lost pretty bad against those teams. Granted I didn't watch either of the games too closely, but I still don't think the trade for Nash was worth it. Maybe after a few games or so it will be and they bounce back, which would be great. But right now I don't have much hope for them.

Plus I really liked Anisimov and Dubinsky. I was sad when they were traded.

First Detroit signs Colaiacovo, now they're signing Huskins. I'm perfectly OK with them signing the worst parts of our defense from last year.

Detroit might have lost Lidström, but they did pick up a couple of guys who last season played on the top pairing of the best defensive team the League has seen in decades. I'm sure they'll be fine.

They don't have anyone like Petro that will make those guys look like serviceable top pairing players, though.

I think you've got something there. It seems like he's clinching his eyes before having any kind of collision. Might be a factor.

This.

Detroit is getting desperate, and are finding out just how special Lidstrom was.

After one apparently lackluster game against Toronto, Eller's being benched tonight against the Panthers.

Well, they said it would be a crazy season around the league, and so far it hasn't disappointed.

Moving Nash probably helps the Blue Jackets with team identity.

Nino Niederreiter has requested a trade. If they do end up trading him, they'll likely still get a good return.
