F1: Perron-Backes-Oshie
F2: Marchand-Bergeron-Seguin
F3: Schwartz-Berglund-Stewart
F4: Paille-Campbell-Thornton

D1: Chara-Boychuk
D2: Jackman-Shattenkirk
D3: Ference-McQuaid

G1: Halak
G2: Elliot

But with this line-up, I'd move the Bergeron line to the top line.

Whats remarkable is how little this team is better than the actual St. Louis or Bruins roster as it is. I think i t really goes to show how similar these two teams are.

This is an interesting poll but what it fails to take into account is how much better a given line or pairing is compared to another.

For example:

The Bruins #1 D pairing > The Blues #1 D pairing
The Bruins #2 goaltender < The Blues #2 goaltender

However the difference between the Blues #1 D pairing and the Bruins #1 D pairing is much closer than the difference between the Bruins #2 goaltender and the Blues #2 goaltender.

This poll would have them even 1-1 after such an assessment, when in reality the advantage would lie with the Blues in this particular example as they would have a larger overall gap between players.

this is a great poll.

I can't believe that I have the same votes as the consesus, albeit some are very close. Only difference was I thought G was a wash and put Bos and Stl.

I had forward lines all going to Boston and I put Chara with Seidenberg as first pairing and went with them.

In a poll about the better team on paper Boston wins for me. But I like the Blues team as a SC winer a lot more. I think this poll just showed that on paper preference and on ice preference is different.

edit: seems like I was one of the few that preferred Boston's prototypical 3rd line. In a line matchup I can see Boston's outplaying the Blues 3rd line mixture.
