Alright, since Nino potentially wants a trade, what would your team be willing to give up to get him? Keep in mind this is still an asset with serious value. Of course ultimately the Isles control his fate and don't have to settle for anything that they don't feel legitimately helps them or represents a better fit for their club.
It will ne never happen but if Nino really wants out then thats the type of return Isles would want....Garth and Isles are really high on Nino and it would have to really be an established young player or a highly regarded close to NHL ready prospect to get Garth Listening...
IMHO Nino remains an Islanders.....
Also somthing around Nino and a Yotes defensman would be nice..
if the reports are true i think sending him to columbus to reunite him with ryan johanssen would be a good match but i think he would rather just be called up and play for the isles than get traded to another team and kept on their ahl team, he is pretty much a lock to make the team next season
Also, we'd be willing to do Nino+ if it meant getting a significant piece back.
Ah, you my friend are describing the one and only Kyle Quincey. I do believe it would be well worth it for the isles to trade the bust that is Nino for the budding superstar defenceman.
I'm not sure what the wings would offer but it would probably start with Smith which would be a non starter for us so we're back to square one. If we are having a rough go with our season I think the wings would be wise to look into moving Franzen/Filppula for Nino (adding a bit if there's a need). Besides that I'm not sure what the isles could want from us.
