Raps almost blew another 19 point lead but we beat the Fakers! WOOT! C'Antoni was pissed lol..

Kobe 10-32 and 6 turnovers. No beating us with a late 3 this game or going off for 81!

Wow, thought for a second we would blow another huge lead lol. Amir continues to come up big, he's the heart of the team.

But man, I really hate the way Kobe plays and the praise he gets from his fanboys. He was so lucky to force his way to LA and play with the most dominant bigman of our generation. He's one of the most overrated players of all time. He has influenced an entire generation of guards to play his selfish me first style. He's allowed to go out there and take 30 shots, miss 20 of them because he's Kobe. If I was an NBA player, I'd hate playing with him.

I would much rather build a team around Durant or Lebron, guys that actually play team oriented basketball than a young Kobe. Glad to see the Lakers go down this year.

Agree with almost everything you said, but there is no denying that Kobe is one of the all-time greats.

Kobe is one of the most selfish players I have ever seen play. Iverson is right up there with him imo but Kobe takes the cake. The guy always has to get his shots, his assist stats look decent at about 4.7 but in all honesty for a guy who pretty much handles the point it's not that impressive.

I remember Bynum saying that he feels playing in LA with Kobe stunted his groth as a player. Kobe's reply to that was (well everyone has to sacrafise something when the play with Kobe Bryant.) And Kobe calling Dwight soft while Dwight fires back saying there is no chemistry on the lakers because of how they play. (A Kobe first system)

It was noted that Shaq and Kobe didn't get along, and it's been proven that Kobe can't get along or play with other star players who demand the ball. Pow's numbers have suffered with Kobe but Pow has a laid back personality and is a team first player.

Phil Jackson also called Kobe the most selfish player he ever coached and someone who went out of his way to get his no matter what the team's system was in his book a few years back.

I hope this year slows down the people saying Kobe is anywhere near MJ. I always laugh at Kobe fanboys who say that stuff. Even Leo was calling Kobe an MVP candidate during halftime. His team isn't even in the playoffs!

Just wanna get your guys take on the season now that it's reached the half way mark officially. Time to grade the players!! Here's what I got..

Quote:
No player on this team deserves more than a B.

Ed Davis: B
Showing some of that talent we all thought he would have given his moment to shine now that Bargnani is out for a significant period.
Amir Johnson: B-
One of our best forwards this season. Solid play all around and keeping his fouls down too finally.
Jose Calderon: C+
Coming off the bench he's inconsistent and he's still a lackluster defender but he's playing a great offensive game and is playing well as a starter in Lowrys place.
Derozan: C-
Still way to incosistent and doesn't have the ability to take defenders off the dribble or shoot the 3. His defense is still lacking. Has to work on his 3 pt. shot and help defense.
Bargnani: F
Brutal start and now injured. He's not missed at all. Was supposed to be one of our go to players and his absense has actually improved the team. He needs to GTFO.
Valunciunas: C
He's a rookie big Euro so ya he's gonna look bad at times but he's shown glimpses of being a very good premier center at a premium position. BC or next GM better not trade him.
Lowry: C
Good start to the season until he got injured. Now seems to be sulking and his body language isn't good. Has struggled with injuries too. Mediocre season from a player we gave up a lottery pick for. He needs to pick his game up.
Allan Anderson B-
Big surprise. Not looking like a D-Leaguer anymore. He takes way to many shots though and doesn't play a team game. Needs to play within himself and the team and not be so selfish. I wish DD had his swagger and lack of fear for taking shots though.
Fields: D+
He was an F to start the season but since coming back from surgery he's improved so my grade on him has too. He's still wildly inconsistent but he's getting better. Not a liability at least anymore.
Ross: C
Good shot, good defender, great athleticism but hasn't been able to put it all together yet. Glimpses of looking great just like JV but again a rookie who seems to hit the wall and then come out of it.
Acy: N/A
Still raw as hell but he looks like a more athletic version of Reggie Evans. I like his game around the rim and he has more finish than I thought he did. I could see him becoming a pretty good journeyman tough guy.
Gray: D+
Meh... 3rd stringer for a reason. Very slow footed and basically a big body out there to get some garbage points/time/injury time and free fouls for Casey.
Kleiza: F
The Bargnani of our SF's. Terrible. He can't defend anymore, he rebounds okay and he takes ill advised 3's. He is way to inconsistent and overpaid. Only reason he has stuck around is to help JV get acclimated to the NA game and culture/country shock.
Lucas III: D
3rd string PG and has played like one. His 1st quarter of the season was brutal after a good pre-season. He's turned it around a bit lately though so that's why he doesn't get an F.
Pietrus: C
A SF that at least gets paid to do what he does well. He's not overpaid and has been adequate at the SF since replacing that scrub McGuire.

Not to mention the only way someone wins an MVP is if their team is a top 2 seed.

Apparently there's finally a deal in place for the Maloofs to sell 65% ownership of the Kings to the Seattle group headed by Chris Hansen. This paves the way for them to move the team to Seattle, presumably as early as this off-season.

Really has taken his game up another level, has stopped playing lazy, rebounds like crazy, blocks shots and has a midrange game now. Like his progression
Amir Johnson:A-
Heart of the team. Can play 2 positions, start or come off the bench. Very versatile.
Jose Calderon: B
Shooting the lights out and setting up teammates. Has stopped pounding the ball for 20+ seconds of the shotclock. Stiil terrible defensively though.
Derozan: C-
Not deserving of his contract extension. Is in love with long 2s, the most inefficient shot in basketball. Has poor handles, can't create for others and is pretty bad defensively.
Bargnani: F
The team's improvement since his absence says it all.
Valunciunas: C
Has looked OK. Other centers have eaten him alive but he is a rookie so it is to be expected. Should come off the bench when he returns.
Lowry: B-
Had an amazing start, but then started to remind me of Mike James with the way he was chucking out there. Has stopped with the selfish play since he came back. Needs to be a better teammate at times, seen him stare down Ross for a mistake, needs to be a leader.
Alan Anderson B-
He's produced but I hate how he thinks he is Lebron out there. Way too selfish out there.
Fields: D
He can't shoot worth s###! but can rebound and defend...not worth his contract at all, but can play off the ball with cuts to the basket. Needs to improve his FTs.
Ross: C+
Has a nice package of skills, athletic as hell, smooth jumpshot, good defender. But falls in love with his jumpshot when it isn't falling and never attacks the basket.
Acy: C
Short, but long wingspan. Can block shots and finish at the rim, and draw charges. Done what is asked of him.
Gray: D
Big, slow and dumb. Has no hands and is good for 2 illegal screens a quarter.
Kleiza: F
Thinks he is the European MJ or something. A terrible chucker.
Lucas III: D
Another chucker (boy we have a lot). Doesn't create for others.
Pietrus: C-
Has lost his shooting ability but can play defense. Meh pickup.

Colangelo: F-
Needed to go yesterday. Overpays for mediocrity and scrubs. Trades draft picks away like candy. Is in love with Bargnani.

Casey: D
Has terrible gametime management. Poor timeouts, plays out of timeouts, inbounding plays. Gives guys minutes because of their contracts, and not their play. Bad rotations.

Grizzlies traded Marresse Speights, Wayne Ellington, Josh Selby and a future 1st to Cleveland for Jon Leuer.

This pretty much gets them out of their salary issues for at least the rest of this season, meaning it's probable that Rudy Gay is off the trade block until the draft.

That's fine by me, because the asinine price that they were apparently requesting was too much for it to be worth it to the Raptors.
