On TH2N, they had him on a list with Huberdeau, Conacher, Tarasenko as rookie leaders?

Rookie Qualifications
To be considered a rookie, a player must not have played in more than 25 NHL games in any preceding seasons, nor in six or more NHL games in each of any two preceding seasons. Any player at least 26 years of age (by September 15th of that season) is not considered a rookie.

Kadri has not been a rookie by the NHL's rules since he played his 25th NHL game 2 seasons ago.

very gifted offensive player, defensive game is starting to come around now.

To anyone calling Kadri a bust:
lets try to remember he's still only 22!
seems like these days if a top 10 pick doesnt come in and rip it up as an 18yr old he's considered a bust

also...someone please post the article (or video) where Kadri comes off as thinking of himself as "god's gift to hockey"...quite sure you will not find one

Lesson here, stop trading our high draft picks, draft/develop/promote.
Kadri was a vicious hitter in the OHL playing amongst his equals. He is not shy to run someone if it strikes him. The progression here now to watch is when all that nasty flair developes to his NHL game, just how valuable he becomes is going to a treat to watch.

I can't see the nasty flair being any further than our first play-off appearance away.

Roberts/Eakins have most likely helped develope a good person with some good knowledge that is going to work into being a good character. The discipline of both could only rub off good way if your receptive like Naz is.

He was mad leaving the ice last night.Hates losing, and you could tell he took it upon himself they lost. Thats awsome.

that is a true leader, IMO, even if kadri did put that in the net that last second, probably too late, but great showing by kadri soo far
I have a feeling he will become a fan favorite soon, I think kadri knows he played well, but in his mind, it wasn't good enough because the team lost, I love that commitment, how can people hate this kid?

Where I'm getting at is Luke Schenn was drafted 5th overall, was loved by most fans but didn't pan out well here. And, when he was traded there just a general reaction of "meh", oh well, what can you do, good luck Luke.

Morgan Reilly, drafted 5th overall as well, would've been drafted higher by Burke according to him doesn't even get a 5 game tryout despite some lofty comparisons and the general reaction again was "meh", let him develop in junior more (not that I disagree).

Kadri on the other hand, since day 1 in his first training camp, the majority of Leafs fans on here and the media have been all over this guy. From radio hosts saying he will be working at the local Home Depot to printing pictures of him with a pacifier in his mouth (was that Zuckerberg the idiot, again?).

So, what gives? Obviously there is some hate for the guy despite being drafted lower than others and not even hyped as much considering that year he was expected to go around 12th overall. Many of the guys behind him in the draft (remember MSP?) aren't exactly stars either yet and certainly not ligthing up the league. Just wondering where/why much of the unfounded and unwarranted hate for the guy comes from. Its like many Leafs fans want him to be a bust.
I've noticed he does get a lot of attention, both good and bad.

Probably cause he's a brown guy and a muslim.

What happened to the old avatar LS? Liked it. Agreed he can play with an edge and I like that in a player. He was really good his last year in London in the playoffs, 2 points per game average if I recall correctly, always like a player that plays in big games. His challenge is to stay humble and remember riding the bus is not too far away, but I see a change in him, hopefully for our sake it's for good. And that can only be good for our organization going fwd.

This is OT and besides the point but:
Common misconception... Arab and Brown are the same thing. They aren't. Brown generally refers to South Asians (Indian, Pakistani, Bengali, Sri Lankan, etc.). If you fill out a census form, they are two different races. Kadri would fill out the bubble for "Middle-Eastern" not "Brown."

There is no "brown" option on the census

I do indeed. People make the same mistake with a lot of cultural or ethnic identities in that part of the world. Like thinking that Iranians or Afghanis are Arab, or that 'Arab' means 'Middle Eastern' (there are in fact more Arabic speaking nations in Africa than the Middle East). Or that Arab also means Muslim.

Fun fact of the day: Kadri was the highest drafted muslim, but that distinction only lasted 3 years. Nail Yakupov is also muslim.

Point out where and how this video actually answers the question you've posted in response to.

Did I miss the part where he says "holy crap i'm amazing"?

The mods removed it for me(deemed offensive you know).

Carlyle is going to give him more icetime because, he knows what Eakins knew, and thats every time he's on the ice there is something positive going on. Play the crap out of him is what i was thinking too.

I would like to see Kessel/lupul double shifted occasionally putting Naz in the middle of them. Bozak i'm fine with though. Just would like to see a look see on that. Kadri has certainly come to be NHL ready, but there is still a long road to NHL confident for him.

As long as everyone understands he is still developing would be nice for a change.

Kadri wasn't the first muslim or lebanese person to play in the NHL, but I haven't a clue who the others were.
