The view and sight lines are definitely better than the old 400's (those in the corner 400's may not feel the same way but it definitely is for those that were in the center 400's) but the leg room and space overall is worse IMO.
all one needs to do is go to the blue seats, sit down and see how much more room they have there as compared to the new 200s. there's a lot less room
One thing I enjoyed was the 11th floor behind the 200's. Has a West Balcony type feel, albeit smaller, where you could hang out between periods. Only gripe I have is there should have been a bathroom or two up there even if it was a small one.
Once the bridges are built, I wonder if they're going to start restricting access to the West Balcony and Budweiser decks. I can envision lots of refugees from the upper 200s wanting to hang out there

The cheaper blue seats has more leg room? That's crazy.
I'll be in the 200s tomorrow. I'm a pretty small guy, so hopefully I don't notice it as much as you guys.

its not that crazy when you think about it. they didnt change anything in the blue seats besides the new seats. no new concrete, no new angle or pitch to the seats.

right, leg room should not have changed because the deck concrete remained untouched. But all the seats were gutted and the sections re-created so there could be a difference in shoulder room. But I agree with kaneone that it is crazy that MSG corp would have given less legroom to 200s than what was kept in the blue seats

the only way thats possible is if the amount of seats in a row changed
I sat in that section last season for a game last season, whatever the section was called, and have tickets to that section this year. I remember the view being quite good, how is it this year?
Well, last year you would have been in 313, or whatever the 400 above it was. If you were in 313, then the view is pretty much the same, only you're much closer to the roof. Even when comparing to pictures I took from my section last year.
I can see those who used to be in the 400s feeling like they have a closer view, though.
A few questions...I'll be in 208 tomorrow...Do the Rangers shoot once or twice that way?...And if I want to go down for warmups, is the corner closest to the Rangers bench where they come out? Thanks in advance

I'm not good with the numbers, but if you look at a seating chart with the logo facing how it should, they shoot at the left goal twice.

208 is on the opposing teams shoot twice side. And that is where they come out, that is section 105.
Obviously. Those 400 sections were not there last year, they are all new
i dont think so, all that was changed was the seats and a fresh coat of paint and railings were put in. everything is pretty much in teh same exact spot though. they also changed the numbers of the sections

I guess I could be wrong. I put together this image last year - In grey is the current seating map, and in blue is last year's 400-level seating map overlaid:

No, they clearly moved the seats closer. You can see how the seats start on top of the front of the new mid-level suites.
You may be right, since I'm just judging this off the virtual view.

So what is up there anyway? Just a concession stand or two? Can't believe they didn't put at least some small bathrooms.
And can you get to the escalator tower from there or do you have to go down to the 8th floor concourse?
Thanks (won't get to a game till March unfortunately)

Yeah there's a Garden Market (a concession stand with the basic stuff) and a concession stand for beer. The escalators don't go up to the 11th floor, there's only a stairwell and an elevator but the elevator is probably reserved for the handicapped only.

I'm in 208. It's on Henrik's side x2. And the seats are CRAMPED!! And the staircase and portal are NARROW!! I liked my seats in 308 last year much better. Another nice thing about old MSG was that the sections were much smaller, meaning you didn't have to climb over 20 people to get in and out of your seat. In my 208 seat, you can only access the seat from one staircase and I am 14 seats in.
EDIT: Adding a poll to this thread. Am I the only one who prefers MSG the way it was?

I did but I also had a lot of good things going with the seats we had that others didn't. We were in 405 row A so we had no one in front of us, were two off the aisle so if I needed to run to the bathroom or concession stand I could do it quickly, and I knew all the spots that others didn't know about or couldn't get access to (like the 8th floor bathroom that was in the corner that wasn't crowded a lot of the time).
I'll get adjusted to the new building after a little while I'm sure.

Same here -- I had Row N of 306, which was the last row against the concrete. I could stand anytime and lean my head back against the wall. I also had a small standing room next to me I could pace back and fourth when I got nervous Or buy the cheapest seat in the building and have a third person stand/sit in that area.

Thanks for the quick reply.
So if you're sitting high up in the 200s you can use that stairwell to make a quick escape to the escalator instead of going down through the seats and portal to the 8th floor concourse?
