You're watching that one too? Florida D is down in the locker room now. Both teams look sort of out of it.
I can't believe how good the Panthers D is making the Habs transition game look. They're just dreadful team again this year. Florida just keeps getting caught with three guys down around the goal line.
Of course, the only goal happened because Kovalev couldn't/didn't stay with his man on the back-check, to the surprise of nobody.
I'm trying to think what team would need to move a player to get Luongo.
The teams with key unsigned RFA all have goaltending set (Varlamov, Lehtonen, Price).
The Panthers have ample cap space, so they wouldn't need to clear space for Luongo.
The Leafs might need to clear some, but I assume that's who Gillis was referring to with "not who you think"
I can't imagine it would be a Western Conference team.
Could it be the Flyers? I could see them looking to improve from Bryz, and they are pressed against the cap so having a deal contingent upon them moving another player (maybe Bryz himself) makes sense.
Philly is the one that jumped to mind as fitting the statement. Would be kind of ridiculous though. Luongo may be an upgrade, but Bryz is good enough for them to win with and has looked good in the first 2 games. If they're going to burn up trade assets it should be to improve their defense.

Didn't look good there
2-0 NJ.
EDIT: Deflected off Flyers skate, so not Bryz's fault.
Capitals look ****ing brutal, no character at all in that locker room. Never understood all the Holtby hype. He had a nice playoffs with Dale Hunter's 6 goalie system but he never impressed me otherwise.
18 year old Alex Galchenyuk scores his first goal of his NHL career to give the Habs a 4-1 lead over the cats. The rookie talent this season is absurd..
Could see this game getting ugly if NJ scores again, Philly loves resorting to goonery in blowouts.
That might happen, but I think they're well prepared for that with guys like Janssen, Carter, Bernier and Matteau in the lineup. Would be nice to se Hartnell up against one of them
Is the Montreal/Florida game and the Nashville/Minnesota game not available in HD for anyone else on FIOS? I'm thinking of ordering CI but I've noticed a lot of games haven't been HD, and I find it difficult to watch SD games now on my tv..the games show up as a tiny box.
