Outside of a few pinches that fell flat, he was okay. Still, Bouillon is not someone who should be leading the team in TOI, at any point in the game. Look for that to change once PK signs and takes his spot on the PP.

What's the deal with the Center Ice feed? It doesn't work for me. Thought it was free 'til the end of January?

Bouillon is much better tonight, maybe I jumped on him too quickly. He was horrendous last game though, there's no way around it. But he's playing a lot better so far tonight.

Therrien scratching Eller worked, and here's why.

When things aren't going well one night, everybody in the room has their own angle on what went wrong, surprisingly, a good number of them will point towards the same guy, who, from the ice and the locker room, truly lacked intensity or effort or whatever. Now, as a coach, if you want to punish somebody, the only right player to punish is THAT guy. If you punish the wrong guy, say somebody that doesn't have results but works real hard anyway, then the players aren't gonna react well. If you punish the right guy, then your team will really respect the fact that, as a coach, you see things as they do.

My guess is that Therrien hit the nail on the head, and the guys agree with him that Eller deserved the press box tonight.

I wouldn't mind that but he still hasn't really gotten a chance to get his feet wet and get used to the NHL speed, lets see how he adapts after a few more games first. He's still a pretty smart and hard working player.

Plekanec is usually good at the beginning of the season. They are games with less pressure. Has soon has the game will start meaning more, Plekanec will just dissapear like snow in the spring!!!

I might take back what I just said... According to NHL.com, Bouillon played 8 minutes in the first. Really? Man, I must really be going blind, I haven't seen that at all....

Its his first game at center in the NHl and had a good shot and prepared a nice play later in the period. My gosh do we already have Galchenyuk haters? That was fast...

It's hard to argue with the results so far, that's for sure. Hopefully Eller gets a fire under him, If he gets on his game in addition to what seems like the rest finding theirs, we could win some games this year. Regardless, you are 100% correct, nice analysis.

Doubt it. You don't showcase someone when you're two games into the season. He's a Therrien player, as is White and Prust.

Therrien's giving Bouillon Subban's workload in minutes. As soon as pK's back in the line-up, Bouillon will go back t 3rd pairing minutes.

If you were in Therrien's shoes, short term (assuming Subban's back soon), would you rather give these minutes to Kaberle? For better or worse, I'd give them to Bouillon too. I'd rather keep Kaberle's minutes well-spread (if that's even possible), and also make sure Emelin gets the right matchups toughness-wise.

The best news of the start of the season for Therrien is Diaz. His play warrants more minutes, which will enable Therrien to reduce Bouillon's icetime.

Whats with the nasty comment ? I am also one who thinks that Galchenyuk actually has a chance at staying the whole season. I guess some people missed the little things in the 1st. But i am quite sure that MY was very pleased with 27's first period.
