On the breakaway, Kovy did get a shot away, didn't he? So shouldn't it be just a penalty and not a penalty shot?

Holtby looks absolutely atrocious so far this year.

It's unsurprising that the Caps are struggling early on - they have a new coach who's going for a different system who hasn't had a chance to implement his system yet - but the defense and goaltending are just sad and the offense isn't clicking at all.

Just like it was during the playoffs, NJD just flat out know what Philly's PP is doing.

Color me shocked. Knew it was going to happen without him playing in Hunter's system.

Very glad parise left New Jersey, considering how dangerous they are going to be in a shortened season ( heavily favors brodeur ) . Not to mention our past struggles with em

Just watched the Blackhawks anthem singer (Jim Cornelison) belt out his epic Star-Spangled Banner. I remembered being blown away by his anthem at the Winter Classic too (starting at 2:30):

Holy **** he's awesome. I'm off to renounce my Canadian citizenship and hunt down terrorist cells in the Middle East.

lmao, a non-dirty hit ends up with every Flyer trying to start a fight.

Wait a minute, is Philly getting a PP out of this?

Ok, two in each box.

Did somebody just see the smile Giroux was having as he was touching Elias?

That's gif-worthy.

So that is what a 3 on 0 looks like. Not a bad line change. Not a 120 foot stretch pass. A legit 3 on 0. Patrick Kane scores.

Skirmish after a clean hit, probably my biggest pet peeve with the NHL.

Kane is on absolute fire in the early going of this season.

Quite a turnaround from last year when he looked sluggish, out of shape, demotivated, hare-brained and more than a little bit discontent.

A cross check like that to a goalie should be suspendable, imo. Goalies are way to valuable to a team and so chicken **** antics like that could easily put a goalie on the shelf. Esp. when in the butterfly... seems like a blown out knee could come quite easily.

Looks like B. Schenn left his feet on that hit. Gotta see it again.

And Simmonds is such a rat. Seriously what was his intention there? To get a future HOFer off his game? HA

How was the hit to the head on Volchenkov not even called? It was the point of contact.
