But cmon guys, we need some kind of spark here.

I may sound stupid but we don't even know how good this kid is going to be. I'd rather have Forsberg right now then have another Semin. I know Tarasenko is coming out now, but they were drafted THE SAME YEAR and we have to wait this long for him. Ugh.
You realize Forsberg likely won't be making a big impact until 2014-2015, right? And that Kuznetsov is a much more offensively skilled player than Forsberg? Trading Kuznetsov is not smart.

Nice passing leads to a quality PP shot. Wish the Boys would keep up the passing on the PP.

Ray Ferraro is killing me!

He just did an analysis of how easy the Caps are to play against.

"Look at Mike Green. He wonders out of the way, he turns the wrong way, Ladd goes right by him and now Green is going to play goal in the net. They already got a guy wearing $5,000.00 worth of equipment in front of him. No firmness from Mike Green."

Why even throw with Thorburn. I mean, I love the heart, but you know you're not going to beat him. Erskine can, on occasion, but he's a whole different monster.

This team has some idiotic ability to pass pucks to the opposing teams defense man at the point.

What was that a 1:55 shift on the pp for 8 and 52? I guess that's progress.

The Caps are an easy team to game plan and play against.

One shift for Johansson in the third and skipped over for PP time for Perreault.

Ribeiro with Hendricks/Chimera & Brouwer is pretty funny.

I'm not a fan of this 1-3-1.

Its something that can be coached against. Need to be a dynamic PP.

Three moves that transform Washington into a contender:

Trade 1: Forsberg + 1st rounder + MoJo for Corey Perry (UFA at end of the year, convince him to resign)

Trade 2: John Carlson for Luongo + Keith Ballard+ Raymond

Trade 3: Neuvirth for young players/picks to recover assets lost in trades 1 and 2

Top 6:
Ovechkin - Backstrom - Perry
Raymond - Ribero - Wolski

D:
Green Alzner
Ballard Orlov
Poti Hamrlik

G:
Luongo

And the team has looked better, specifically the top line. Granted not much can be made once you're down 3 goals in the third, but still.

Would like to see Wolski or Beagle with time up there if Laich isn't back soon. Hell, even when Laich gets back it might not be bad to experiment.

That goalie equipment is worth way less than $5,000.00, so Ted wins.

Joke's on you, Ferraro.

If you win the offensive zone draw, I love it. But I feel like it really makes winning those 50/50 pucks difficult once the first save is made.

Maybe it'll get better, though.

His value is significantly higher for Washington than anyone else at this point.

C.) Why does it have to be Forsberg or Kuznetsov when it's better to have both?
If you want to wait two years to actually return to relevance be my guest. They might do it with Forsberg next year but right now this lineup is not getting it done and no one expected them to. Why do you think this entire board other than the Caps section is down on the team? Their lineup stinks.

Keep Kundratek and Orlov along with the key guys. Stop dumpster diving on players you expect to be **** (Fehr, Hamrlik, etc).

Losing Laich and Orlov shouldn't make us get wooped by one of the worst teams in the league. That's depth issues no matter how you look at it.

I understand adding depth players for a cheap price, but if you know what you're getting that's kind of like buying the same product although it's going to break 2 months from now. If it's cheap, I guess.

Ribiero's a player.

That trade 3 years ago would've been great.
