Holtby and Beagle also appear to be Hunter's two very favorite players. I hope we don't find out, and I hope I'm wrong if we do, but I don't really trust Hunter to make the right call if that happens.
i am not going to judge what hunter might do based on what he might say or might not say. if holtby gives up a gimme in the first 10 minutes of the game for a rangers lead, i think hunter punches his ticket.

i could be wrong. holtby has a pattern right now of making the expensive save but giving up cheap goals. if the ranger are going to get less than 20 sog's again and the caps are playing from behind, it sounds like a job for neuvirth.

of course i dont know if neuvy is even really healthy enough to play

Green is the best offensive defenseman in the league and he is 100x better than Brian Campbell? Wow i mean seriously you need to watch some of the other 29 teams in the league. Green is a shadow of his former self and most GM's would rather take Letang, Edler, Pietrangelo, Doughty, Karlsson and Shea Frikin Weber without even thinking twice over Green. I hope the caps do keep him though but i would keep his contract short in case he continues to fight the injury bug.

Its funny to read so many of you say "Lets Trade Mike Green" three years to late. What a waste of assets by GMGM. His value will never be what used to be. His number were inflated by BB street hockey system were he only played one way. The good old days when it was ok to give up 4-5 odd man rushes a night. And OV cared enough to workout.

Glory days... They pasted us by 3-4 years ago.

Right now I'm at the acceptance stage with Green. Caps didnt get any D in FA, so he's pretty much not going anywhere. Whatever they do with him, they take a risk either way.

I just don't want the Caps to give him a short deal that takes him to UFA. Take a chance on his health, or deal him, even if his value isn't what it used to be.

Mike Green is washed up. He was a flash in the pan that was made possible buy a street hockey system were he played as the extra wing.

I have never seen him with anything but a weak sulking look on his face.

Mike Green is a great example of vary bad resource management.

The sad part is you can that about most of the team.

I am ready to blow it up. And that has little to nothing to do with this season. It has to do with the past five season.

GMGM has to go. He is a great collector of talent that has no clue what it takes to win.

Its been 10 years since this team has had any Heart, Passion or push back.

They are all soft on the ice and in the head.

They can't get rid of Green in my mind if you have no viable replacement even on our own roster. Kundratek looks good but not 2nd pair good just yet.

McPhee is a great collector of talent but dumpster dives too much in my mind. Sure, Wolski has been great so far but this is the same guy who ditched Matt Bradley and Boyd Gordon for the likes of Joel Ward. Yeah, that guy.

In my mind you've got young guys as Forsberg and Wilson coming onto the team. Forsberg and Wilson should both hold roster spots soon. It might take longer for Wilson, though.

Stanislav Galiev looks like the biggest dump in awhile. This was supposed to be a high caliber guy. What happened???? Stop making bad decisions.

Green should be the leader of our defense. But he appears a follower. I can't remember the last time he tried to throw a hit. You would think he is an old man.

**** or get off the pot, we need an alpha male to lead our listless defense. I used to think Green is that guy, now i wonder.

The first thing that turned me off of Mike Green was his body language. He never looked the role of the alpha male. To me he always seemed to be sulking. He never had the in your face fire in his eyes.

Every interview he takes he looks so depressed. Then his play shows little to no effort.

I know things about Mike Green that you guys don't and I don't think you would like them. I've been calling for his trade for awhile now but it looks like we don't have the pieces in place. If we did, he would go to a place like Philadelphia and we would get absolutely burned on defense trying to place Kundratek and Orlov on the same pair.

What exactly was Green doing during the lockout, besides not working out?

You've picked the only dman in the league who is a worse player on a worse contract.

Give him this full season in dc. If he sucks, just trade him to a contender for futures.

Meh he's been decent and has played well so far, at the least he's durable. Only has one more year left to his contract, not too bad.

Maybe you should watch the rush where Ovechkin probably would of score if it hadn't been for Hendricks being an idiot.

Him and Ovechkin were in sync there, great rush by Green.

I thought that was Backstrom, no? But if not, my apologies. Congratulations to Mike Green on his scoring chance! That coupled with his not getting injured should get him the hard hat!

No it was Backstrom who was passing to Ovechkin, but the rush started off Green hustling and getting an area pass from Ovechkin, and he of course gave it to Backstrom.
