Looked like a charge. The refs call every interference but it's been ages that I've seen them call a charge.

Ahhh.....thanks for including the channel number Flightless Bird. I never even went to the HD channels because there was no listing of the game mentioned in the guide, unlike the standard channels which were all specifically listed. So when I went to the channel you mentioned, I also have HD.

Thanks for the heads up with the follow up post. Or I probably would have missed it, and stayed watching the SD picture.

Crawford robs Tarasenko. All set up by a great play by A. MacDonald.

Moving aside that I wish the plague and locusts and biblical wrath on Philly, and am enjoying this, I really wish people could not start threads who have under 100 posts. It would at least make people who throw accounts together to front for controversial baiting threads at least work a bit first.

As for Philly, much as I hate to say it, they will be there at the end of the year. Rough stretch, but they certainly are not missing the playoffs, and they always seem to cobble it together at the end, through a trade or whatever.

In a regular season I would certainly agree with you, but in a shortened 48-game season it's a toss-up, and losing three straight to your division to start really puts you behind the eightball.

They are certainly not a lock to make the playoffs, but they are better than how they've played so far. Hopefully they dig themselves enough of a hole where they don't have time to get out of it.

Looking like Rangers, Flyers, Caps will combine for 0-7-0 to start the season. I can dig it.

Am I the only one enjoying the irony of threads asking if Philly is tanking popping up now?

With the way the season is set up I wouldn't be terribly surprised if this Philly skid lasts long enough to effectively take them out of competition (it's hard to imagine 4 teams in this division making the playoffs this year with the schedule set up the way it is...usually 29.26% of games are against division foes, this year it's 37.5%...and there's not going to be any nerfed 3 point games against the west this year, either...I expect fewer OT games because of that), but I fully expect them to snap out of this before too long and answer back with an absurd month at some point putting them right back.

Philly has to make some changes if they're going to have a chance to beat anyone (but us, of course) in the playoffs, though. That defense is butter soft and they lost a fair amount of offensive balance since the end of last season, to say nothing of potential goaltending issues (though Bryzgalov isn't to blame when Philly's defense is playing this awful and their offense isn't putting anything in the net).

Faceoff violation in effect in Detroit, as a Stars player gets caught winning a faceoff with his hand with under 8 minutes to play in a 2-0 Dallas lead.

That rule is definitely creating some interesting situations.

That sequence earlier in the period where Giroux backchecked and stole the puck off whichever Devil it was, and then took an unsportsmanlike is so him. Brilliant on-ice play, childlike response when something doesn't go his way.

Huge amounts of irony given the amount of sh** Philthy fans gave (and still continue to give) Crosby.

Btw, a PP run by Kovalchuk is a great thing to watch.

Tough luck for Backstrom there. Rolling puck right into Erat's crotch.

Thirty feet out of his net will do that.
