I can never see Jets drafting a guy like Jakob Silfverberg, a guy that Ottawa drafted in the 2nd round a few years ago who now looks like top 6 guy. Frk who was drafted by the Wings in the second round just a few spots after the Jets is doing very well in the QMJHL. I'm not using the benefit of hindsight here to argue that the Jets should have drafted Frk, my point is that looking at the Jets drafting record, guys like Silfverberg and Frk wouldn't even be considered . I hope the Jets are a little more diverse in their drafting and consider skill players too. They got lucky this season with Trouba, otherwise passing up on Forsberg would have been remembered for a very long time.
That was my question after the draft. Many at AIH were rooting for Bozon and Frk in the 2nd.

Now I just hope Sutter does something.

Everyone's points are way down from where they once were on that team.

I'd blame coaching.
Watching that documentary on the Blades I'd agree. I've heard more detailed game plans in PeeWee. That team lacks direction.

I don't think it is luck in regards to Trouba.

To be fair, there's a ton of game-plan they're doing that you don't actually see in the final edit, mostly because going over game plans in extensive detail makes for incredibly boring TV.

That and i don't think they would want their highly strategic 'secret plans' to be public. It's the same with Oil Change, pretty vanilla stuff in the room and on the bench.

Edit
Just a lot of "let's ****'en go, boys!"

Jets prospect and Winnipeg native Jason Kasdorf named ECAC rookie of the week. Goalie earned wins over Colgate, Cornell with .957 save %.
Hooray for hometown picks!

I saw this too. Be really interesting if we get a lot of success with those late goalie drafts.

The thing I like seeing is that both Kasdorf and Hellebuyck are putting up better numbers than the other goalies on their respective teams.

Especially as first year NCAA players.

Glad Kasdorf has rebounded well from his injury. He was rolling, before he went down and seems to have picked up right where he left off.

Jason is a good kid. Coach has a ton of confidence in him and he seems to be a game changer. I'm rooting for him but I'm biased as he's family.

Wonder if he's been reading these boards, maybe those bust comments lit a fire under his butt.

Good for Lukas. Hopefully he finishes this season on a tear, I recall he did the same thing last year.

If he only starts producing in January, he will be very valuable in lockout years.

Sorry about the weekly highlight video. Got swept up in the NHL stuff.

I'll try to catch up over the weekend and post videos from the last 2 weeks.

He is a legitmate 6-2 200 plus player as pro , with offensive instincts and nice hands. Have also read before that he does play that 200 foot game the Jets really want/like and has some grit to go with goal scoring ability.

Interesting to see his point production over the last few years , has a chance to put up really nice numbers this year , which would set him up , potentially , for a big senior seaon next.

Lots of plusses , could be a very good late pick that MAY have an NHL future.

he certainly seems to be doing everything right, and that's all you can ask for from your later picks.

Hopefully he continues to develop offensively. I like big gritty power forwards.

At minimum, he should add some size and grit to the Ice Caps in a couple years.

Olsen, Lowry, Kossy and Sutter will give that team a very different vibe.

Imagine an AHL top 6 that can score and beat you up.

Lowry and Sutter next season , then Kos and Olsen the following one. Organizational depth should work like this .

Can see three of those players getting 2 years in the A , I think Lowry may push hard before that.

His growth should be done pretty much , except for some muscle development , so he has kind of caught up to his once gangly body . Now this off season and next year if he can increase his foot quickness , turning radius , initial suddeness , he has a real chance to be a bonafide , plus player in the NHL.
