Clarkson needs to take Matteau under his wing... I bet Matteau'll be better at the wraparound than Clarkie is.

And yes, that was physically painful to type.

I really like that even when we're playing pretty poorly, we're getting points. We're working out the kinks without giving up points.

I dont want him up

I know he's good, but once henrique comes back, then he would be better off down in Quebec, getting a shot at a memorial cup or two, and a calder trophy

I want him to be like a john Madden or Brylin kind of player, I want him to know what its like to win, so when he's up, he plays like it every shift. working on his offence in the lower leagues wouldnt hurt at all either

Did you see that wrap around at the end Matteau almost put in?

Friggen crowd was bursting out with yells of you know what

I'm not sure why but we score more awful goals than most teams. It's interesting how we're consistently able to score them. Usually stuff like that disappears in the playoffs but we basically thrived on it last postseason.

The Flyers were the one team last year in the playoffs that our PK did pretty good against, and I saw that again with tonight's game. I also like how we didn't score for the last 35+ minutes of the game, but didn't blow the lead. Last year if we were up 3-0 and weren't continuing to score we usually would let the team get dangerously close to tying it or taking the lead.

Take last years game against the Flyers where we were up 6-0 going into the 3rd, and barely held on for a 6-4 win.

Guilty of that. I started yelling it when he got the puck behind the net. Laughed my ass off when he appeared to have hit the post.

Matteau is looking real good and I don't mind saying that I'm shocked he's doing so great. Good for him.

That's not necessarily the best way to be brought up. When you get used to nothing but winning, it's very easy to get discouraged, slump, and want out when things get rough. It worked for Madden because we were building a dynasty. I don't think we're going to be that good again any time soon.

No point in rushing Matteau's development, and Devils don't desperately need him at the moment. He'll get sent down.

Say what you want about Clarkson belonging on the third line, but I like him on the second line. I had a feeling Deboer would give him time on the second line as soon as Parise left.

Way to be a leader there Giroux. Four unnecessary pims in the third period. LMAO at this Flyers team so far. And Zidlicky does something dumb on cue

I was going to make a comment about Giroux.

I know its only 2 games but our over priced 1st line center has 2 goals in 2 games and seems to have damn near shut down 2 very good centers in 2 games.

But he is over paid and didnt deserve that contract right!

It was a mix of the playoff intro songs (the sonar sound and the bells part of hells bells)

and prior to that they did a real nice video tribute about hurricane sandy with a bruce song (my city of ruins) playing

Giroux is a terrific player, but he was an awful choice for captain.

It was very interesting...first of all, they started with a video about Hurricane Sandy. Then the intro began and it was a super condensed version of the beginning of the playoff intro, the radar pinging with the red graphics, then highlights of the post season run, song was kinda meh for me honestly. Also, the Conference Championship banner was lite up during the entire thing.

He also apparently thinks that just because he is now allowed to talk to the refs as the captain, he can also abuse them

The new intro video is pretty sweet. I loved how it shows the people and surroundings of the local towns and neighborhoods.

The did the red thing they used in the playoffs last year, with a bell from Hells Bells going off. It was alright.

Warm up music was different. Can't remember what songs they were though. I've heard them all before, all radio friendly pop stuff again. They'll probably grow on me. I liked last year's stuff better.

Also, there were like no Flyer fans tonight. It was impressive. Biggest noticeable clump was a scattering of about 10 behind where they shoot twice.
