Value of: Cory Sarich to NYR

NYR could use a stay at home, physical RHD to shore up our defensive depth on the right side (and to get Bickel of the daily roster). I'm not familiar with what the Flames' needs are, so what would Calgary be looking for if they were open to moving Sarich?

He's not expected to play this season and the jury is still out as to whether he'll play ever again.

Granted we are still doing poorly in a couple weeks, I could see this. I would prefer this years 2nd though. If we couldn't get it from New York, I wouldn't be surprised if we could from another team.

I feel that if Sarich was on the market, a lot of teams would be interested in him to bolster their blueline, especially in this type of season. A nice asset to have for most teams.

I'd offer Nashville's 2013 3rd, and make it conditional - if the Rangers make it to the SCF with Sarich playing at least ~10 playoff games, it becomes a 2nd in 2014.
