Great game all around... night and day from Saturday.
Big fan of Therrien.

yup, JM had his points but it was time to try having an actual human being behind the bench. More energy for sure and seems communication also improved.

Yep. He's the type of coach this team desperately needed: one that's close to the players, possessing the ability to show any type of emotion and endorses physical play.

Good game, but let's not get carried a way with a win over a very, very tired Panthers team. Liked the energy, but it was expected after a very boring affair Saturday. The Caps will be a test, but not THE test. Let's wait before passing judgement.

As for Chuckie, he's a centerman. Nothing else. Habs' brass was right. Maybe the reason why the kid will stick. He'll learn a toooon more as a center with the big club than as a winger with a idiot coach in a junior league. Even playing 10 minutes per game.

White overreacted after he misread the situation and put the team in a precarious spot. Prust generally doesn't make mistakes like that. Fleischmann is far from dirty.

That'd warrant a benching for a few games on many teams tbh.

Just watched Canadiens Express... Besides the guys mentionned in this thread, pretty much every player on the team had their moments. All the lines created chances. But it could be only because it was the Panthers... Anyways, the polar opposite of Saturday's game.

It was a fast play, it's easier to call it dirty after watching a bird-view replay.

I liked White's reaction, it shows team unity, especially after only 2 games in.

Wait, what did he "misread"? Gorges, one of the captains, got boarded. Refs called it. He stepped up and didn't care if Fleischmann dropped his gloves or not. It wasn't just a big "clean" hit, it was a liberty taken on a leader of this team. I doubt any team benches a guy doing the same thing in the same situation, and I don't think Gorges will be voting against him any time soon for what that's worth. Supplementary discipline eventually becomes an issue, but if someone is going to burn their "get out of jail free" card on something like this, I'd rather see it in game 2, not game 42, or 82.

It's OK. I get why you admire it. We all do when someone on our team does it, but then abhor it when the other guys do. White's fighting to prove validity and earn a spot on the roster now that Prust's around. I don't blame the reaction, due to that fact and the team's energy level at that moment, but it's not a smart move. Go rough him up, sure... but dropping the gloves and sucker punching a guy like fleischmann instantly like that? Nah. That's not good.

I didn't think it was a sucker punch. Fleischmann clearly saw what White was up to, and decided to stand there. IF all one has to do to avoid getting punched after running someone is stand there, then it would be very easy to get away with, indeed.

I thought it was an AHL paced game.. The Pants really looked like one and the Habs not so much better.. I felt it was 2 bottom standing teams playing one against the other.. Honestly, I think we will have another pretty high pick this summer, whats the good news..

he didn't play like crap. he setup a few chances, missed a couple and won a puck battle which led to markov's first goal.

he wasn't great, but he certainly wasn't crap.

and wtf is up with cole? he looks like he's permanently locked in first gear. at least david and max were better than last game

Benching White? You cray?

Love that we have 4 lines that can chip in. That's going to be a huge factor during this shortened schedule.

What an exciting game, how long has it been since the habs were actually exciting? No more sitting on 1 goal leads with butts clenched for 40mins. They forechecked, they won puck battles, they rushed players with the puck! We have a guy who is a bit vicious in Prust and the powerplay was ****ing lethal!

I was dubious of Therrien but if this is the kind of heart and soul play we can expect from his style then give that man an extension! I was so sick of Martin dropping off to sleep on the bench while the world passed him by.
