I like champagne. I hate alcohol. But I LOVE champagne.
I might actually have to go to a party
Alcohol is an acquired taste. I'm still working on acquiring it for the more potent liquors. I feel like a ***** when everybody is sipping on cognac with their cigars and I'm drinking PBR and smoking a Newport.
It takes a long time to acquire a taste for real liquor and you have to keep going back to it and just bear it until you acquire the taste. It helps to have a go to drink. I drink whiskey on the rocks, always, but my go to is Jameson or Johnny. It's easier to acquire the taste when it's the same taste every time.

Never had a Newport. Hell, I haven't had many things outside of No. 27's (which suck) and Camel Crushes (which I bum from my friend. This friend is a girl so it makes some sense ) which are absolutely horrible.
Otherwise, I've stuck with Marlboro Red through thick and thick. I'm on Day 2 by the way.
I don't smoke anymore, but my cigarettes of choice were definitely Marlboro reds. Newports suck.

I tried a pack of these once because they were incredibly cheap.
Never ****ing again. Tasted like wrapping my lips around an exhaust pipe. I had headaches.
Other than that, I've smoked Salems (enjoyable), Camel Crush (too strong on the menthol for my liking), Marlboro Skyline (gross), King Mountain Menthol (incredible for the price, very close to Newports), and a carton of full-flavored Luckies I picked up in Jamaica on vacation.

Solidarity, my friend. Actually, think I'm going to sneak out for a smoke right about now.
Menthol is seriously the worst thing......ever. It's like Vick's vapor rub.
Elitist.
I don't get nearly the same satisfaction out of a non-menthol cigarette as I do a menthol. Don't know why, that's just how it's always been. As an additional bonus, the excess mucus secreted by my lungs cools my throat because of the minty-ness.

I don't know. I don't just crave the nicotine, I genuinely enjoy smoking. I think it's the closest to spirituality that I'll ever get. I find the amorphousness of the smoke as it wafts away in the wind to be somewhat cerebral.
Not sure I'd start again given the opportunity, though. Sometimes hindsight still isn't 20/20.

From this single post, I can see why Bob loves you so much

I didn't see the nicotine part of your post at first and thought you guys were having a deep discussion about smoking other more illegal substances.
