Guys, just only one question to all of you, who write "KHL is a joke", "this can happen only in Russia" etc.
Why the hell do you follow KHL?
Yes. KHL has its problems, as every league in the world. On the other hand, league is developing all the time.
EDIT:
I dont understand one thing, to be honest. How can a person, working for KHL or its club, to depreciate the league all the time?? What about corporate ethic, professionalism? Just asking...

People follow the KHL because a lot of good players play there and because the level of the play is higher than in many leagues. Still, that doesn't change the fact that the KHL cannot be taken seriously by anyone who values the health and income of these players as long as they keep handing out ridiculous suspensions like this one. Are they really this stupid or did SKA pay them? Nothing would surprise me.
Jalasvaara's eye is effed up. There was no reason for R2 (joke as a tough player) to start beating smaller non fighter player like he did...especially when Jalasvaara was laying on ice... and only 3 games suspension...that is a joke...KHL gave that suspension...
So KHL is a joke too...in that department. Mods hopefully happy now.

overreacted statement, especially bord part.
Why the hell does not NHL adopt IIHF icing rule? NHL´s one is dangerous. Remember Čajka guy? Today are boards safer, but still it is much more dangerous than Artyukin fight.

Do I blame NHL for that? No.
You cant find difference between the intention to gouge someones freaking eyeballs out during one-sided and self-righteous fight, or someone crashing to the boards by accident during normal hockey play? If you want IIHF icings to NHL due that old accident, shouldnt the transportation by plane be banned in KHL too, because something horrible happened recently by accident?

Why don't u? It is stupid rule and is upheld just because they are greedy.
I am in no way defending artyukhin and i agree he should get suspended for the rest of the season, but i really don`t like that some people see this as chance to bash KHL.

It happend in KHL and KHL gave the suspension. No?
3 games is a joke not only due to the act and the damage done but also because the KHL constantly bends their rules anyway.
Vorky refers to the rule of law.
Perhaps criminal justice should be sought? In US at least some actions by hockey players during hockey games have been brought before criminal courts.
For instance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CWJeGGckBQ
A famous criminal saga also involved Bertuzzi vs Moore hit from behind. I don't see much difference between the Bertuzzi case and the current actions by Artyuhin...
Why greedy ??? I thought, it is like old rule and there were not accident like Čejka's one.
I'm sure NHL know there is much higher risk to get injured with their icing rule, but fans love to see those skating races. They have changed many old rules before.

We also have similar case from the Finnish league with Ville peltonen and Semir Ben-Amor. The latter got 18 games suspension for m the league and I think 3000 euro fine or damages to Peltonen from the police.

yep, understand. But basic of this problem may be in fans...
I think it has been on the table at BoG meetings, but they haven't done anything about it yet. Unfortunately, like Don Cherry has said, all it takes is another serious injury resulting from it before they wake up.

More priceseley: all it takes is another serious injury to a star player before they wake up.
