Morozov was a ****** skater. He played like he was Kovalev or Fedorov or Mogilny, and maybe he had the hands for it, but he looked like Bambi on ice from the waist down.

Bennett reminds me a little of Tomas Vanek, but obviously he doesn't have the finishing ability of Vanek. His skating posture is a little unorthodox, if I were to nitpick, he's a little bit too upright. Probably because he started out playing roller hockey. But he seems to get around just fine. I've seen instances where he actually genuinely beats players with his skating- probably because he looks so awkward that his actual speed is deceiving. But he still needs work in areas like balance and his first step.

Reminded me of Kunitz. Could be a great pick-up in the 2nd round, if he makes it that far.
Hartman won't make it to our 2nd pick, I'll say that right now.

I think he'll wind up going in that 17-25 range of the first round where low-end playoff teams are looking for smart, safe players. He's a PPG player with almost 100 PIMs already while playing a key role in Team USA winning the World Juniors as an 18 year old. I expect he'll be off the board by the time we pick in the first round.

Yeah, you're probably right. Plays a game that a lot of GMs will love.

But we should go for higher upside this year considering all the promising forward talent available.

Yeah, it's inevitable. Zadorov's actually looked pretty great when I've seen him though, haha.

I don't think you need to convince anyone on this board that we should go high upside.

To be completely honest I don't think we'll be picking anybody in the first round this year. I do expect Ray will pull the trigger at the deadline for someone that is going to cost a first rounder as well as one of our defensive prospects.

For that price, it better be one of two UFAs.

Not at all. Why would you rush a prospect and potentially stunt his growth? Look at Nino Niederreiter in Long Island. They rushed him and he struggled mightily. Why does it bother you that Philly want to rush an 18 year old?

Not really, both Pouliot and Maatta are not NHL ready so why do we have to rush them

Other teams have holes in their lineups and probably figure what the heck give the kids 5 games

The Pens are kind of doing what Philly is doing with Laughton except they're doing it with Despres and by that I mean they are easing a kid in that may not be completely ready but hoping that with the playing time that he'll start to adjust to the NHL after a while and become the impactful player that he's capable of being.

Most of what you said I agree with, but throwing Morozov in there is just... no. It made me wish you had a paper cut on your sack for even saying it.

BB is nothing like him.
That was back then. He reminds me of an older Morozov in the K. He's stronger but still has that gangly stride.

... and leave my sack alone.

Lets just say he skates more like Vanek as Jacob said and never mention Morozov in the same sentence as BB.

If you agree to these terms I'll no longer wish harm on your sack.

Between all this talk of ball sacks and Mclargehuge's picture of Paul Martin as his avatar, I get the feeling someone's going to break out in a rendition of "YMCA" any minute now.

Man I wish we could get Zadorov, but he is just too good, and will likely go in the top 10.

Zadorov is a unique talent, and cold fill a big role on the Pens.

I'm not sure what his offensive upside is. Not that it's necessarily a bad thing to have defensemen like them in the system, but I get an Orpik/Volchenkov vibe about Zadarov, in terms of what kind of defenseman he'd be at the next level. But I suppose drafting 30th overall (yes, I went there!) that wouldn't be a bad thing.

So Patrick Killeen now plays for the Orlando Solar Bears of the ECHL.

This is what happens when you show little improvement over 3 seasons, and lose your starting job to an undrafted semi-prospect (Delmas) twice and an SPHL goalie (Darling) in year 3. Does he have a wife and has she tweeted complaints yet?

Was Killeen traveling with Wheeling, because they just wrapped up 3 straight games in Orlando this week and I find the idea of the team just leaving him down there somewhat amusing.

I know he was Fleury's backup for the Black & Gold game.

A 6'5" Orpik or Volchenkov in the latter half of the 1st round?

Hell yeah. Just throw him on the defense pile and let God sort 'em out.

He was actually on the roster card as both teams backup goalie. Not sure if he'd layered correctly. I wouldn't be too upset if I was Killeen, I'd rather play for a team called the Solar Bears than the Nailers.

It's in Orlando too... there are worse places to be in January.
