So then I wonder who will get bumped?
my best bet is burns to IR for now, then once he and demers come back. it will be irwin/petrecki gone back to the ahl.

Move Petrecki back to Worcester. Trade Murray for picks/futures/bag of pucks. Irwin becomes the 7th D Man. But this is all a pipe dream.

if you want to look at a move that means they opened up space, look at burns to IR, or irwin/mclaren/wingels/sheppard back to the ahl.
Those three would have to clear waivers to be assigned to AHL. As they are not on the waiver wire today, they won't be moving to make room for Gomez. (Petrecki would require waivers too)

Guessing it'll be Burns to IR to make roster spot.

(FTR, the only guy on NHL roster who is exempt from waivers to return to AHL is Irwin.)

I wish.

Vlasic-Burns
Stuart-Boyle
Braun-Demers
Irwin

Make it happen.

Anyway, who the **** is going to claim Frazer McLaren? Nobody, that's who.

Sorry but if you think that, you know nothing about actually playing the game on any level.

This will go no where no matter how long it goes.

fairly certain wingels signed a one way deal.

mclaren most likely would make room, and that would be my choice personally. I dont think he is required against most teams. and he will clear waivers. sheppard could be a gamble.

Me too. I just became a big big sharks supporter, as I am a huge Scott Gomez fan. Having followed him play since.. forever. A very nice deal by your GM doug wilson.

He, Gomez will bring that extra element to your third/4th line. Scoring power (especially that playmaking and passing ability
Having watched Gomez with your team I'm glad to see him smile and talking joyfully. He is looking like he's getting his life together.

A 2 time stanley cup winner might just bring that extra to the sharks that'll get this team far. Will be watching a lot of the sharks games this season. Greeetings and salutations. BR: Stoner

This is a great signing, I really didn't think we would get him this cheap! What a steal! I really hope that he proves everyone wrong saying he's **** and that its a bad move signing him.

Mclaren is useless. Hopefully he gets put on waivers to make room for Gomez.

They are also the only players that barely have any potential in them, and teams most likely would not take a chance on them.

Mclaren, sheppard, wingels are worth taking a chance they don't clear (more so mclaren). Since irwin is still needed, petrecki would get picked up i'm fairly certain about that.

Echoing the sentiments of everyone in here and saying I love this deal. I'm still hoping it pushes Handzus out of the lineup and that Sheppard gets more of a chance, but I highly doubt it.

with this long in "talks" now that they are back i am expecting higher than 700k. probably closer to the sheppard 825k deal, but one way.

This is what I would like to see. I hope they get rid of Murray while he still is worth something.

From the section "What Scott Gomez is":

Quote:
A fantastic playmaker. Last year, in what was certainly the worst season of his NHL career, Gomez's 5v5 primary assist rate (considered the best gauge of a player's playmaking ability) still ranked 31st in the league, ahead of centers like Joe Thornton, Anze Kopitar and Eric Staal. He ranked 23rd by that measure in 09-10 and 14th in 08-09. His vision and ability to exploit gaps in coverage are still near-elite and could be a boon to T.J. Galiardi and Tommy Wingels.
