Nah, he hasn't really had a chance to play the fourth line when we're always down a couple of goals. Westgarth isn't the right choice when you desperately need to score.

But yeah, the defence.. Defence isn't really even the right choice of word here since there has been no evidence of any defending in these two games.

And it's very reassuring that this has been the emphasis from the coaching point of view.

After two games, I'm not convinced that Redden wouldn't have been an upgrade on our blueline!

What about PK Subban?

He ain't signed with MTL yet, could we entice him here?

We could, and then Montreal would pay whatever we signed him for and that would be that. JRis t making that kind of move after the Habs so generously took Kaberle last year.

What if we offer something that puts Montreal right at the cap? Offer something with around a $5.5M cap hit and Montreal will be just barely below the cap for this year. They either match and we lose nothing but Bergevin's respect, or they don't match, we get PK, and we only lose a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

What does Montreal care if they are right at the cap? Gomez's salary comes off the cap next tear and they are fine.

I forgot about the alleviated cap due to Gomez for next year, that's why. Carry on.

I'd say that's a strong reason for the confusion. Following all the cap nonsense is such a pain.
