This is such an amazing deal! 2 time stanley cup winner with this assist power and skill set. Fine in faceoffs and fine at bringing that puck up. What a deal.
My bet is McLaren is the odd man out, but as others have said Murray just stands out like a sore thumb these days. He was easily the worst Shark on the ice last game and it's not even really debatable. Clowe also still looks completely lost out there. I might still consider packaging Clowe and Murray to some team who overvalues them and get a young top-6'er in return.

They are also the only players that barely have any potential in them, and teams most likely would not take a chance on them.
Mclaren, sheppard, wingels are worth taking a chance they don't clear (more so mclaren). Since irwin is still needed, petrecki would get picked up i'm fairly certain about that.
I know you're not a fan of Sheppard but both he and especially Wingels have some pretty good upside. It's also extremely unlikely Wingels would clear waivers and there's zero chance the Sharks would risk exposing him.
Getting Gomez a roster spot is easy but when they need to move a roster player to get Demers and/or Burns into the lineup it's likely to be some combo of Sheppard, Irwin, Petrecki & McLaren going.

The playmaking stats for Scotty Go cited by FTF are phenomenal. I think Scotty Go is just what our 2 snipers Couture and Havlat need. They should move Couture to wing and let Gomez center that line.
And yes, take clowe off that 2nd line...
SLOWE CLOWE HAS TO GO!
SLOWE CLOWE HAS TO GO!
SLOWE CLOWE HAS TO GO!
Like I've said before, somebody needs to make that sign and bring it to HP and/or start that chant...

That link says he is expected to sign a 700k deal...
He would be perfect to move the puck for the bottom lines. We aren't exactly the deepest in terms of bottom 6 forwards and a vet could always help on the 3rd or 4th lines.

Agree on Clowe. Clowe, Handzus and Greiss to Philly......in some sort of deal. Handzus has really, really gotta go, even more-so than Clowe. Murray, he and Stuart may both be needed when and if we face the likes of the Blues and Hawks and Kings. We don't want to get so easily pushed around like we did last season as we did with the Blues. Come the playoffs, we can always carry 7 D like we did a couple seasons ago in our final 4 run. Mind you, if Irwin continues as he has been playing, Murray does become somewhat expendable at the deadline if we really need to make a move.
Incidentally, Stuart looks really, really good. I'm fairly relieved.
agreed. Just, I think Murray is a better deadline deal than at the moment as, our strength in our D is the depth at the moment. I think Irwin just adds so much to it, he has been a very good addition.
