He was fantastic. One of the best performances I've seen from a '96 this season. Controlled the boards like a 20 year old.

Yup. They were set to go with 5, then Patrick Hamilton got injured.

Rumor has all NHL teams over the bottom cap at this point. I'm guessing that a number of OHL guys (Jenner included) will go to camps as the teams look to find out who's in shape/injured or even over the hill. The NHL waiver wire should be interesting. I'm also guessing some will stick with NHL teams for 9 games to see how they do. They could then be sent back without burning a year................

Forget Jenner looks like Laughton will not be back either....Glad Twohey did not mortgage the future as say goodbye to the Gens doing anything this year if both stick.

McGinn demoted; Laughton looks like lock

POSTED: Wednesday, January 16, 2013, 9:54 PM

Sam Carchidi, Inquirer Staff Writer

With Tye McGinn sent back to the AHL Phantoms on Wednesday evening, center Scott Laughton looks like a lock to make the Flyers' opening-day roster.

Laughton, 18, was the Flyers' first-round pick in June.

In Wednesday's practice, Laughton centered Wayne Simmonds and Matt Read wingers who combined for 52 goals last year.

The Flyers figure to give Laughton at least a five-game look-see. Once he plays in his sixth game, a year would be burned off his contract.

Last season, Sean Couturier, then 18, earned a roster spot in training camp and finished with 13 goals and a plus-18 rating.

Boone Jenner

Just a heads up Jenner was cut from Columbus. I assume that means he'll return to Oshawa

Who would've though Scott Laughton would have higher odds of cracking an NHL roster than Boone Jenner....not me. Both solid players though.

Getting any players back and sooner is a huge boost at this critical time of the year. The Gen faithfuls wanna see a solid run.

Laughton will probably get his 5 games, but I'd be surprised if he stayed the entire season.

Well anything is possible, they are giving him a chance. He was moved up to the third line to play with Simmonds and Read.

Last night on TV Paul Holmgren had nothing but good things to say about Scott. He will be here for five games it looks like but who knows? He is a better skater than I gave him credit for and what a pit bull! The kid is relentless on the ice.

He apparently had the flu....He was on the bench so couldn't be that bad. I suspect since Appleby played well on Thursday DJ got some confidence and ran with him.
Altshuller should be back Wednesday in Belleville.

I agree, DJ will more then likely go with Altsy, but Appletree play extremely well in all 3 games this past week, if it wasn`t Belleville I think he would go with Appletree. I hope for Altshullers sake he can stop giving one softie a game.Appletree do not give up any softies.

It`s pretty tough to fight a guy like Zweep when Sabourin is on the 1st line and Zweep is on the 4th line and Sabourin has fought Mathers 4 times in his career.I guess Thompson from Kitchener is considered a lightweight. LOL

lot of articles being written about how the gennies are in first place; yes they currently are by one point but have played three more games then the trailing bulls; so before everyone continues on that hype that point should be noted.... it's going to be a great game tonight and definitely tell more about the first place team in the division, but no matter the outcome belleville still has the chance to take over the top seed win or loose. can't wait for 7:05

Laughton Returns

Great news for the Gennies, with Scott Laughton back and the return of Lucas Lessio, the Gens should and could make a push in the East. I believe it`s the 1st time since game 5 that they will have a full lineup.

Last time I looked there are around 20 games give or take for both teams left plus playoffs. Nobody has won anything yet. Maybe you should go back to your board and discuss this.

Oh I get it. Answer is there were roughly 5200 people from Oshawa in the rink Sunday afternoon who live in Oshawa watching the Generals kick Bellevilles but out the door. Hope that answers your question.
