I did the Wheel of Justice for that hit with Playoff Mode activated.

That website is uncanny.

How this hit gets one game and Neal got nothing for his hit on Couturier last year amazes me.

Let's call a spade a spade. The Pens were down 3-0 facing an elimination game. No way in hell they would have suspended Neal any more than 1 game for all of that with his team facing elimination. This is the lack of consistency people have a problem with.

I guess I need to get my eyes checked cause Volchenkov is the only guy in the world that can jump without his right skate leaving the ice. Watch the video from the 24 second mark.

Check his hit on Briere.

How long until an identical hit goes unsuspended, followed shortly by an uncalled penalty getting 2 games?

So targeting the head is ok as long as you don't leave the ice? Gotcha.

This suspension is just another one that proves the league has no idea what they're doing. They don't have the balls to suspend established guys that do this stuff like Phaneuf, Kronwall, or Ovechkin, but you're free game if you're a first or second year guy.

Is that the one where Briere gets a concussion?

And THAT is exactly the problem I have with this, the inconsistency. You have guys like Ovechkin who leave their feet on every hit they throw. I guess its okay when he does it because its "his thing".

If you go in with your elbow to target the head or use your shoulder to target there head (maybe by jumping) then no.

Volchenkov's elbow came up after the hit was made shoulder to shoulder/chest.

Watch again, dude. The forearm makes contact with the head of Schenn. That's considered clean only because he didn't leave his feet? Do you realize how ridiculous that sounds?

Hmm, with Schenn suspended and Hartnell hurt, does that mean Sesitito and Shelly are playing?

If so...

isn't schenn considered a first time offender? even if you deem the hit illegal i think he should have gotten a fine, thats it. a game is ridiculous.

Exactly. There's also Kronwall, who is allowed to launch himself into player's heads and it's OK because it's his back instead of his shoulder, or something. Or, they blame the player who takes the hit instead.

The only thing that bothers me about it is that now he'll have "history" in that goofy formula Shanahan uses. Really a shame since he's such a great physical energy player, and that dumb formula's got to get inside players' heads effectively neutering them. But I guess that's what they want, the National Homemakers League.

Ridiculous. Volchenkov has made a career of that hit. Shanaban inconsistancy is unbelievable. Like someone earlier said, schenn should of just said he was jumping outta of the way and it would of been fine. Smgdh.
