I did the Wheel of Justice for that hit with Playoff Mode activated.
"After a thorough review we can find no basis to impose supplemental discipline. This was a hockey play. In reviewing this play, we also took into consideration that it's the playoffs. We did think about it though. We were very close. Like really close."
That website is uncanny.
Down in the basement, I've got a Craftsman lathe. Show it to the children when they misbehave.

How this hit gets one game and Neal got nothing for his hit on Couturier last year amazes me.
Let's call a spade a spade. The Pens were down 3-0 facing an elimination game. No way in hell they would have suspended Neal any more than 1 game for all of that with his team facing elimination. This is the lack of consistency people have a problem with.
So targeting the head is ok as long as you don't leave the ice? Gotcha.
This suspension is just another one that proves the league has no idea what they're doing. They don't have the balls to suspend established guys that do this stuff like Phaneuf, Kronwall, or Ovechkin, but you're free game if you're a first or second year guy.
And THAT is exactly the problem I have with this, the inconsistency. You have guys like Ovechkin who leave their feet on every hit they throw. I guess its okay when he does it because its "his thing".
Exactly. There's also Kronwall, who is allowed to launch himself into player's heads and it's OK because it's his back instead of his shoulder, or something. Or, they blame the player who takes the hit instead.
The only thing that bothers me about it is that now he'll have "history" in that goofy formula Shanahan uses. Really a shame since he's such a great physical energy player, and that dumb formula's got to get inside players' heads effectively neutering them. But I guess that's what they want, the National Homemakers League.
Ridiculous. Volchenkov has made a career of that hit. Shanaban inconsistancy is unbelievable. Like someone earlier said, schenn should of just said he was jumping outta of the way and it would of been fine. Smgdh.
